This Way To Egress
Rock (progressive), Electronic, and Instrumental
by
Animus Numinous

Review: "With their signature brand of atmosphere-laden, guitar-driven electronica-infused instrumental music, Animus Numinous has conjured up yet another mind-bending piece of music that refuses to be pigeonholed into any one particular genre. From hints of electronica to gothic-styled synth soundscapes and avant-garde prog rock to virtuoso guitar music, the works of Steven Lance and Tom Desisto always provide a great deal of creative intrigue." Andre Avanessian, UK Sound Engineer/guitarist.

SKYLIGHT MAGAZINE REVIEW: This is a kaleidoscope voyage through sound and imagination, performed by the dynamic combination Animus Numinous, Steven Lance, the mastermind behind soft synths, and Tom Desisto, a guitarist whose playing resists straightforward classification. They create a new genre called ProgTronic, which combines electronic sounds and progressive guitar work with a strong influence from video game aesthetics, jazz fusion, and psychedelic rock. The album takes you to a dynamic universe where digital surroundings and analog soul interact from the very first track. Lance’s synth work is lush, deep and sometimes Bluesy, incorporating sequenced patterns and ambient flows that move with retro-futuristic enthusiasm. It’s the kind of atmosphere you’d expect from a lost 16-bit RPG soundtrack, assuming it was created by a prog rock maestro.
