Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | Mad Agnes Singer-Songwriter. Eclectic | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online and on the radio, NY See Map |
Hartford-based trio Mad Agnes (Margo Hennebach, Adrienne Jones and Mark Saunders) has been called “genre-bending,” refusing to stay within one style but choosing instead to draw upon their varied backgrounds to create a sound of their own. Common to all their work, however, are signature harmonies (tight as jeans from the dryer!), intricate arrangements and the human connection they cultivate with each audience.
Adrienne and Margo met in 1985 in NYC, through a music ad Adrienne placed in the Village Voice. Their first trio, Idle Rumours, had a Celtic flavor and toured for several years in the NY/NJ area. A second trio in the 90s, Madwoman in the Attic, allowed them to hone their songwriting skills and build their New England following. Mark became Margo’s side guitarist, then husband. With Adrienne back in the mix, Mad Agnes was born in 2001. Collectively they have 14 CDs, and have performed at festivals & listening rooms from coast to coast, 4 tours in the UK…and one mall in Portugal | ||
