The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past twelve years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.

George Kilby Jr, who divides his time between New Orleans and the Catskills, has brought the sounds of the Crescent City to stages all over the world.
Each member of the Revue has a long and colorful history in music. Pam Fleming tours the world with Hazmat Modine; Jenny Hill tours regularly with Burning Spear and other reggae luminaries; Todd Isler worked member of Phish, Bruce Martin still plays with the Tom-Tom Club, with two member of Talking Heads, and the bandleader toured and recorded with Pinetop Perkins of Muddy Waters Band for over a decade. Kilby's Southern roots have always been part of his sound; and his yearly salute to Mardi Gras has found him leading this powerhouse band for over 19 years running. His Fat Tuesday gigs in Brooklyn and Manhattan have been voted "Best Mardi Gras Party in NYC" several times. $20 admission. For reservations, 914-737-1701 | ||

On the 3rd Saturday of each month, we invite 2-3 outstanding local/regional artists to share their music (both originals & covers). We’re into our 16th year. Our featured performers this month are Kyle Hancharick and Jay Strauss.
We start promptly at 7:30, but recommend you arrive closer to 6:30 for a seat with table. Noble Coffee will serve a light dinner menu plus a great selection of desserts, coffees & teas. Steve Kirkman is a Hudson Valley Singer-Songwriter and host of the long running Open Mic at the Towne Crier Café in Beacon NY. He has worked with many local musicians as a sideman, and producer for recording projects. Steve is a co-founder of the local folk/rock groups, Hope Machine, Guthries Ghost and Alectro. E’lissa Jones is an acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose work blends folk, rock, jazz, and country with soulful storytelling. A classically trained violinist who began writing songs at age seven, she has since created a catalog of more than 250 original compositions. Jones has toured and performed with music legends including Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, and Al Green, opened for Pete Seeger and Steve Forbert, and released multiple albums with music featured in film. Her accolades include Hudson Valley Singer-Songwriter of the Year, Best Multitalented Musician in the Hudson Valley, and Best Solo Artist in Orange County, NY. She is also a Grammy Ballot Nominee. Beyond the stage, Jones is the founder of Hudson Valley Ebony Strings, supporting young African-American classical musicians.
