Roland Vasquez’s brilliant career spans over 30 years and features a long list of accolades, awards, grants and performances. Known for his compositional prowess and latin jazz drumming, Vasquez’s style can be described in a review of his 2016 album “Revelation" (Afro Bop Alliance):

"...the balance of the program is devoted to the work of Roland Vazquez, whose involved and boundlessly imaginative scores establish him as one of the major jazz composers of our time. Vazquez' accomplishments (as drummer and composer) stretch back to the mid-1970's, including a pivotal stint with his mentor Clare Fischer. A seasoned educator as well, Vazquez has amassed a varied output including works for big bands, orchestra, chamber groups, percussion ensembles and more. His 2010 release "The Visitor" earned wide acclaim and brought much deserved attention to this great and underrated voice in large-ensemble jazz." David R. Adler - New York, May 2016)

JLH are not new to the game. The five members have decades of experience playing, recording, and touring both nationally and internationally. This band of five women from NY City infuse the grit and attitude of their hometown into the blues.

With double lead guitars, a heavy rhythm section, and soul-scouring vocals, JLH is a blistering blues monster capable of whispering in your ear before stomping on your heart.

Guitarists Hightop and Tina honed their love of blazing dual leads in the ’90s. They recruited Mary, who played bass, Cool Whip got the nod before she even finished slamming. And no singer can bring a crowd to its knees harder or faster than Dana Danger Athens.

The hits of Gary U.S Bonds were and still remain an irresistible invitation to an instant party! As America’s baby boomers moved into their mid teens and real rock ‘n roll was dwindling supply, Gary came roaring out of Norfolk, Virginia in 1960 with the relentless pounder “New Orleans”. Attention was brought to the record by having promotional copies sent to radio stations in sleeves inscribed “Buy U.S. Bonds”- hence at age 19, Gary Anderson became Gary U.S. Bonds. The follow-up was the now legendary ‘party’ record, “Quarter to Three,” a number one hit with a spirit and energy that would eventually inspire and influence a generation. In fact, the Rock and Roll of Fame lists “Quarter to Three: as one of the 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.Over the next three years, Gary co-wrote and recorded hit after good-time hit; “School is Out,” “School is In,” “Dear Lady Twist,” “Twist, Twist Senora,” “Seven Day Weekend” and others.

In 2005 Barry Adelman heard the voice of God. It whispered "Music for Humanity". He looked around, no one was there, but he couldn't deny the whisper. It was like the whisper in the movie Field of Dreams; Barry knew he had to take action. He looked up Music for Humanity on the internet and discovered the name reserved, but no website. Barry contacted the person, Kurt Irmiter, who had reserved the name, and together they decided to create a not-for-profit, Music for Humanity. In 2007 Music for Humanity was officially given a 501c-3 status by the IRS, which means donations to MFH are tax-deductible. MFH has given 47 music scholarships from $1000 to $8000 totaling $100,000 More music means a better world for all of us. You can see the scholarship winners and donate to MFH at http://musicforhumanity.org/ MFH has a monthly music series (for over 9 years) on the 3rd Saturday of the month at Noble Coffee Roasters in Campbell Hall NY.
