The festival (in case you never heard of it) is a
family-friendly, two-day event that takes over Main Street and boasts seven stages, over 80 bands, over 100 of the best vendors in the Hudson Valley. There'll be parades, kids' crafts, film festivals, and lots of yummy eats!
This is a completely volunteer-run event and proceeds go to supporting the music departments of
the Kingston, New Paltz, and Rondout Valley School Districts.
So much music and joy and summertime bliss!!!!

Spaghetti Eastern Music is the solo project of NYC/Saugerties-based guitarist, keyboardist and singer Sal Cataldi. Cataldi fuses Eastern beat, blues, techno and funk-influenced guitar instrumentals with gentle acoustic vocal tunes and looping, straight out of the John Martyn/Nick Drake songbook.  Michael Gorlin’s Jazz Trio is based in Westchester County, playing mostly jazz, as well as funk and blues. Michael is a student at McGill University, studying Jazz Performance. He gets inspirations from the saxophone greats, such as Sonny Rollins, Hank Mobley, and Michael Brecker. The trio shines in the “straight-ahead” style of jazz, which focuses on the connection of bass and drums, stylistic of 1930s and 40s jazz artists. The trio’s ultimate goal is to continue and expand upon the tradition of improvised jazz.

For Anat Fort, improvisation is a way of living; whether playing, composing or teaching her work is always inspired by the moment. A natural, life-long improviser, she discovered the depth of jazz in her teens. Coming to the US to study with Harold Mabern, Rufus Reid and Paul Bley, Anat developed the writing aspect of her creativity through the study of classical and jazz composition.
In December 2018 she received the prestigious Prime Minister Jazz Composers Award [Israel]; the first woman to ever win this prize.

 The Sea Cliff, NY singer, songwriter and activist Roger Street Friedman is bringing his full band to The Turning Point in between Hudson Valley festival performances (Clearwater in June and Falcon Ridge in August) to share his original music with new audiences. The show will feature tracks from Friedman’s forthcoming third album including his most recent single, “Sun Never Sets,” which is based on his grandfather’s solo journey from Eastern Europe in 1907 at the age of 13. Friedman wrote the song in support of all immigrants past, present and future and is using it to raise awareness of groups that provide support to them.

It’s still there on Violet Avenue (Rt.9G) in Hyde Park, the place where it all began in the Summer of 1979. Kevin Becker and Gary Strait, two folk music performers, inspired by the liner notes of Peter, Paul and Mary’s In The Wind album, sought a spot for like-minded musicians in the Hudson Valley to gather and perform for themselves and others. On July 29th that year, behind the Amber Lantern Tavern’s doors, the Hudson Valley Folk Guild was born. Forty years later, the Hudson Valley Folk Guild is still going strong. He's been called "A rootless cosmopolitan and cultural radical who finds scraps of solace and inspiration down by the Roanoke River"--a wanderer from the Midwest, then the UK, and back to New Jersey, but now frimly rooted in Roanoke, where he lives a relatively normal life.

The spacious grounds of this grand mansion are the perfect setting for picnicing and listening to the beautiful jazz standards of The Big Band Sound.
