201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
As a young child, Kazi Oliver tapped out rhythms on many a household item, including tables, counters, even a sister or two. When his mother discovered that a local after school program offered African drumming, Kazi was promptly directed to attend. Since these early beginnings, he has truly become the drummers' version of the Pied Piper, engaging children and adults in experiencing the energy and excitement of African drumming.

Kazi has been teaching for 45 years and performing for over 40 years. Professionally, Kazi has performed at the Village Vanguard, the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, and on ABC-TV's "The View." Yet Kazi enjoys just as much, his appearances at community festivals, schools and events that bring together multi-generational and multicultural audiences to experience and enjoy the awesome power of the African drum.

Stone Ridge, NY   See Map
Renowned Guitarist and Bassist, Matt Finck and Jay Anderson team up for a night of duo jazz music! The two masters of their craft serenade the Lydia's Cafe community on July 27th 7pm.

On Matt Finck's latest release Fat Mink: While the full scope of Matthew’s musical expression crosses into so many styles, the focus here is on unbridled groove music in both the hardcore instrumental funk and soul jazz traditions. From rollicking scorchers to heartfelt soul ballads, all built around the always imaginative nucleus of Matthew’s extraordinary guitar explorations, Fat Mink is a scintillating experience from beginning to end.

Jay Anderson takes pride in his versatility and openness to different types of music. He has been featured on over 400 recordings, including work with Paul Bley, Randy Brecker, Bob Berg, Mike Stern, Jim McNeely, John Scofield, Seamus Blake, Oz Noy, Adam Nussbaum, John Abercrombie, Donald Byrd, Clark Terry, Bob Brookmeyer, Phil Woods,

Opening Act
with Chris Rattie & The New Rebels
The FALCON & The FALCON UNDERGROUND
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Chris Rattie blends country’s aching ethos with a keen eye to the future, and has risen to be one of today’s most riveting, astute storytellers. His Steve Earle-wrinkled voice tells tales of self-realization and wonder on his latest album Porch steeped in frothy Americana, burnt around the edges with honest, godforsaken songwriting. He wails over smokey guitar lines and a honky-tonk rumble.

Porch is the culmination of years of blood, sweat and tears. A native of central Pennsylvania, Rattie cut his teeth as the drummer for Vince Welnick (The Tubes: The Grateful Dead), and as drummer and prominent songwriter in The Rustlanders.

These experiences wrought invaluable wisdom, bestowing upon him the exact skills he needed to write, record and play the album he was destined to make. Through nine coarsely-delivered, poignant tracks, Rattie defies convention and situates himself as transcendent.

"Tom Freund is indeed one of the great singer-songwriters. He constructs a unique world, defines it, and then burns it to the ground. Truly unique and absolutely brilliant." –All Music Guide

Freund’s intimate, heartfelt new solo album, East of Lincoln, chronicles a personal journey along the path from self doubt to enlightenment. Freund takes his time and lets these new songs simmer, and that—along with memorable guest spots from longtime friend and collaborator Ben Harper and an all-star cast of session players—is a big part of the record’s charm.

Tom's songs have been featured on television series such as Better Things, Parenthood and One Tree Hill. For his latest - Amazon Prime Studio's animated series Pete The Cat - Freund co-wrote, sang and played songs with Elvis Costello, KT Tunstall, Dave Matthews and Diana Krall.

Marlboro, NY   See Map
Twenty year old Woodstock-based guitarist/singer/writer/producer Chogyi Lama is a shapeshifter—moving intuitively across genres and styles, embodying whatever he is playing. Sitting in with some of the industry's most inspiring artists, he has come to be known as a remarkable guitar player with elegance, power and humility far beyond his years.

Chogyi has been busy producing upcoming talent, nurturing collaborations and working on original music. Most recently, he kicked off the season at Bethel Woods Center For The Arts—the site of the Original Woodstock Festival - where he will return as part of the celebrations, as the grandson of Richie Havens, who opened 1969 Woodstock Festival .

Chogyi’s first album Karma, reflects musicality, vocal range and direction in style that was unexpected.

"Charette weighs the ageless objective of soul-jazz with a trace of restless modernity- Nate Chinen / The NY Times

A Brief History of Charette and Scholtz...artists from very different ends of the musical spectrum, brought together by fate. The two met as colleages in Prague, Czech Republic where they were both teaching at Jesek Conservatory. For years Charette played piano for Scholtz, but as fate would have it, the duo became a couple. Now happily married, The Charettes, who rarely perform together, will perform an evening of uplifting standards and Bossa Novas.

"B-3 stylist... jazz scholar and glitzy entertainer, Charette is a burning soloist who understands the tradition of the Hammond B-3 as well its future—just as certainly as he understands his place in that lineage- Downbeat Magazine

Naming The Twins ( Remembering Robbie Smith)
Singer-Songwriter, Folk/Traditional
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
Naming the Twins is the harmonizing duo of Robbie Smith and Kathleen Glauser, whose well-matched voices sound a bit like Simon & Garfunkel if Art was a girl, a bit like Peter, Paul & Mary, if one of the boys was taking the night off, a bit like Gordon Lightfoot or Stan Rogers if they had had a girl harmonizer. Not twins by birth, but twins at heart, they share a sibling like sense of humour and harmony. "On February 27, 2019 the folk world was saddened and shocked to learn of the "way too soon" death of Robbie Smith. When I heard the news I burst into tears and knew I had to do something special for Robbie. The more I listened to Naming The Twins, the more I fell in love with their music. Robbie left behind a treasure trove of music. He will be missed but his music together with his partner, Kathleen, will, and should, be with us for a long time to come"....Jon Stein The singer songwriter showcase will remember other great artists who left us way too soon. As part of Extreme, Badger has sold 10 million records, including the smash hit “More Than Words,” and toured the globe. Wanting only the best for his project, he enlisted fellow Extreme member Kevin Figueiredo, multi-instrumentalist Chris Lester, soaring guitar hero Eric Clemenzi, and Tom Appleman a Berklee College of Music Professor.
