As a young child, Kazi Oliver tapped out rhythms on many a household item, including tables, counters, even a sister or two. When his mother discovered that a local after school program offered African drumming, Kazi was promptly directed to attend. Since these early beginnings, he has truly become the drummers' version of the Pied Piper, engaging children and adults in experiencing the energy and excitement of African drumming. 
Join us for a night of some of the best Bluegrass and American Roots music in the Hudson Valley. The R. J. Storm and Old School Bluegrass Band, based in Beacon, NY, has performed their brand of energetic, artistic, and engaging bluegrass music at various venues from right here in the Hudson Valley to the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, RI. Bringing together tasteful instrumental musicianship, rich harmonies, and an energetic stage presence, the R. J. Storm and Old School Bluegrass Band trio has appeared with artists such as Tony Trischka, Pete Seeger, Tom Chapin, Bill Kieth, Uncle Floyd, Dom Flemmons, John McCutcheon, Tom Paxton, Smokey Greene, Roger Sprung, and many, many others.

Research shows that heightened qualities of mindfulness can profoundly affect our appreciation of and joy in music. Join collaborators Stephen Cope and Frederic Chiu for an evening of sublime music enjoyed in the context of a variety of simple techniques to enhance the listening experience of body, mind, and spirit. If you are a lover of classical music, and are open to learning and experimenting with basic mindfulness techniques, we encourage you to join us for this innovative evening which will include inspiring music of Bach, Chopin, Debussy, Glass and selections from Chiu’s magnificent collection of hymns and dervishes by Gurdjieff/De Hartmann.
Chris Rattie blends country’s aching ethos with a keen eye to the future, and has risen to be one of today’s most riveting, astute storytellers. His Steve Earle-wrinkled voice tells tales of self-realization and wonder on his latest album Porch steeped in frothy Americana, burnt around the edges with honest, godforsaken songwriting. He wails over smokey guitar lines and a honky-tonk rumble.

David Amram, composer, conductor and multi-instrumentalist, returns to Tompkins Corners for an evening of jazz, classical, blues and world music favorites. David will be joined by Kevin Twigg (drums), Rene Hart (bass), Adam Amram and Elliot Peper (percussionists).

Twenty year old Woodstock-based guitarist/singer/writer/producer Chogyi Lama is a shapeshifter—moving intuitively across genres and styles, embodying whatever he is playing. Sitting in with some of the industry's most inspiring artists, he has come to be known as a remarkable guitar player with elegance, power and humility far beyond his years. 
This bluegrass band has high energy, foot stomping tunes, and slow, end of a long lonely day tunes too. Three part harmony is at the core of what they do best, fast or slow. The band includes Dave Cobb on guitar and vocals, Mary DeBerry on bass and vocals, Terry Ghee on fiddle, and Steve Nash on banjo.
Veteran musicians Joe Gil (trombone), Neil Alexander (organ and keyboards) and Nadav Snir-Zelniker (drums) have put together a new group called the "Thunderhead Organ Trio". The group is taking the concept of the organ trio in a new and different direction, drawing on many different influences and styles.
The group explores the grittier, rockier side of the genre referencing groups like the original Tony Williams Lifetime and mines the jazz standard repertoire for obscure gems and deep cuts.

Award winning, New York bred saxophonist, Ray Blue, brings highly acclaimed musicians and his up and coming music students to play their hearts out in this Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King. 
The Jupiter String Quartet stands at the forefront of the younger generation of classical chamber music ensembles. Formed in 2002, they perform at the world’s finest halls including New York’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, London’s Wigmore Hall, Austria’s Esterhazy Palace just to name a few. Michael Brown has been described as “one of the most refined of all pianist-composers” (International Piano) and “one of the leading figures in the current renaissance of performer-composers” (The New York Times).

Southern Dutchess Concert Band will be giving an outdoor concert this evening in the beautiful bandshell at Freedom Park, sponsored by the Town Of LaGrange. The park is located at 212 Skidmore Road - the address is Pleasant Valley although it's really in the Town LaGrange. Admission is Free and remember to bring your lawn chairs and blankets. The 50-piece Southern Dutchess Concert Band will be performing a selection of show tunes, popular standards, marches, light classical and wind ensemble music. Highlights will include a medley of the Beatles greatest hits, a tribute to Vietnam veterans titled "Black Granite", the anthem "Let There Be Peace On Earth", and a collection of TV show theme songs. The Southern Dutchess Concert Band consists of woodwind, brass and percussion musicians from southern Dutchess County and surrounding areas.

Their “Greatest Hits” is the best selling album of the 20th century. Touch by the passing of Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey, Pat Badger (founding member of the multi-platinum rock act Extreme) formed the Dark Desert Eagles in tribute. As part of Extreme, Badger has sold 10 million records, including the smash hit “More Than Words,” and toured the globe. Wanting only the best for his project, he enlisted fellow Extreme member Kevin Figueiredo, multi-instrumentalist Chris Lester, soaring guitar hero Eric Clemenzi, and Tom Appleman a Berklee College of Music Professor.
