Over 50 musicians will be performing on the porches of many beautiful houses in the village from 11:30am-5:30pm. This will be followed by a New Orleans style brass band parade to the Village Municipal Parking Lot for a grand finale concert from 6-7pm! This event is rain or shine.

 Free colony-wide activities at the historic Byrdcliffe Art Colony:
Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild invites all to experience the vast creativity and natural surroundings of Byrdcliffe . The afternoon features Open Studios hosted by Byrdcliffe’s artists-in-residence, a view of the Byrdcliffe jewelry and ceramic studios, an unveiling of the Haiku Box Project, a series of artist-made boxes installed on trees throughout the Byrdcliffe colony, as well as a tour of White Pines, the original 1902 home of Byrdcliffe’s founders, Ralph and Jane Whitehead. Also featured in the event is a free concert at 4:00 pm at the Barn by British pianist Simon Mulligan, a collaboration with our friends at Maverick Concerts.
All events for the September 29 Byrdcliffe Afternoon are free to the public. Maps of the colony and an itinerary for the day’s events will be available at the Byrdcliffe Theater, 380 Upper Byrdcliffe Road.

 Gurf Morlix was named 2009 Instrumentalist of the Year by the Americana Music Association, and he was inducted into Austin’s Music Awards’ Hall of Fame for his seminal contributions as a record producer, instrumental accompanist, and singer-songwriter.
Gurf rose to prominence during the 11 years he was Lucinda Williams’ accompanist He also produced her first two break out albums. Previously Gurf forged a deep musical bond & friendship with Blaze Foley, whose reputation continues to grow since his tragic death in 1989 at age 39. Foley is the subject of the recent music biopic Blaze, a story that Gurf too plays a role in.

The Telegraph Quartet performs for the first time for Beacon audiences this fall with a diverse program featuring chamber works by Schulhoff, Mozart, Bax, and Dvorak.
The Quartet will be joined by renowned oboist James Austin Smith, a member of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, in a program to include the rarely performed Mozart masterpiece, his Oboe Quartet.
Awarded the prestigious 2016 Walter W. Naumburg Chamber Music Award and the Grand Prize at the 2014 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, the Telegraph Quartet appears in our series for the first time. The San Francisco Chronical says they are an “incredibly valuable addition to the cultural landscape” and “powerfully adept . . . with a combination of brilliance and subtlety.”

 The Big Band Sound 20-piece jazz orchestra will be hosting this "Swingin' In September" Concert & Swing Dance inside the wonderful Fishkill Recreation Center from 7 to 9 p.m. with a swing dance lesson at 6:30pm. Admission is Free, with a suggested donation of $5 to cover the cost of renting the hall. There will be tables for listening and lots of room for dancing! You can even bring an indoor picnic!  Saxophonist, composer, and educator David Bixler is a multi-faceted artist, performing and touring worldwide with Chico O'Farrill, Lionel Hampton, and Toshiko Akiyoshi, among others. His collaboration with pianist Arturo O’Farrill has resulted in a Latin GRAMMY for Final Night at Birdland and a GRAMMY nomination for 40 Acres and a Mule.
This fall David premiered The Hughes Project, musical ruminations on the poems of Langston Hughes for nine musicians. He has also received numerous commissions, Gaze for oboe, bassoon, and piano, premiered at the 2014 International Double Reed Symposium in New York.
David is the Director of Jazz Studies at Bowling Green State University OH. As both a Selmer and Vandoren Artist he is active as a clinician throughout the world. His recording, SLINK (2014), with his group Auction Project features pianist Arturo O'Farrill and guitarist Mike Stern.

| A prolific and well-respected Boston-area singer-songwriter, Randall Kromm has released four well-received CDs since he began performing as a solo musician in 2009 and performs regularly at folk venues in and around Boston. Randall’s latest CD, Rough and Polished Stones (2017), earned a glowing review from premier roots publication No Depression. The review lauded the breadth and quality of Randall’s songwriting, drawing comparisons to Hank Williams and Townes Van Zandt, concluding: “Randall is covering a genre that Tom Waits isn’t, that Leonard Cohen touched upon but never developed, that Buddy Miller and John Prine do but always seem to pour a little vinegar in. Kromm pours no whiskey into his tunes. They are just wholeheartedly the truth – the naked truth.” On October 1, 2018, Randall is releasing a new CD, Sentimental Season, containing 12 songs reflecting on the fall and winter holidays from Halloween through New Year’s Eve. |

 Born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, William Maisonet-Torres was influenced by his father, renowned percussionist William Maisonet Figueroa (a/k/a Papo Conga) and his mother Doris who sang and recorded a few Boleros. Willy quickly developed a keen ear, a natural affinity for percussion, and a deep love for the music of Puerto Rico.
Willy is a regular on the New York Latin session scene and has recorded vocals for Rey Ruiz, Tito Nieves, Alexandre Pires, Ricardo Montaner, Christian Castro, Gilberto Santarosa, Ricky Martin, to name a few.
He has released 3 albums "Willy's NYC Salsa Project" (2008), "Hardcore" (2011), and "On Another Path" (2015); has received 9 Grammy nominations; and is a 4 time Grammy awardee: 2004 (The Spanish Harlem Orchestra "Across 110 Street"), 2006 (Best Tropical Album Producer), 2010 (The Spanish Harlem Orchestra "Viva La Tradicion"), and 2013 (for collaboration & as guest artist for The Pacific Mambo Orchestra).
