 If Joni Mitchell and Harry Chapin were to have had a musical "love child", it would be very possible that the child would be Stuart. Like Harry Chapin, Stuart is a vivid and precise lyrical story teller. Like Joni, he often uses a number of arcane open tunings. Combining the two you get vivid story songs with deep and often spiritual affectation and a pleasing melody to help the words sink in. Stuart has been performing for years, with no less than five songs on the legendary Fast Folk album series (now in the Smithsonian). He has also received awards from several song writing contests including (most notably) 10 from the Great American Song Contest. His song "Mom's Guitar" was covered by "Gathering Time" whose album made it to #1 on the Folk charts. Two CDs to his credit and is currently working on a third.

Spencertown, New York–Rob Fisch’s Intentional Jazz Ensembe will return to Spencertown Academy Arts Center with “A Jazz Timeline” on Saturday, May 5 at 7:30pm. The group features Rob Fisch (trumpet), Peg Delaney (piano), Bill Delaney (upright bass), and Gene Garone (drums). Cabaret-style seating general admission tickets ($20 public, $15 Academy members, $10 students, and $5 for student members) may be purchased in advance via www.spencertownacademy.org and will be available at the door.
This celebration of jazz history will highlight well-known selections and genres, including blues, swing, bebop, straight ahead, jazz-rock, free jazz, and contemporary jazz, as well as original compositions. The group will pay homage to the likes of Ray Henderson (“Bye Bye Blackbird”), Johnny Green (“Body and Soul”), Rogers and Hart, Gershwin, Ellington, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, and more.  Tim Haufe with Strings: Influenced greatly by the neo-folk music prevalent in the Hudson Valley region where he grew up, Tim Haufe began playing around the area as a solo acoustic act, while maintaining a multi-instrumentalist role for his recording projects. A prolific writer, he has released seven albums. Haufe's music is beautiful, soulful, dynamic, volatile, desperate, and full of hope. This evening showcases his work with a string quartet rather than a traditional rock band.
Patricia Santos is a songwriter and singing cellist who loves many different kinds of music. She draws on her classical training to meld the cello with non-classical styles and loves to continually learn new techniques or find new ways to use old ones. Her own songs range from blues to rock to folk and art-pop, and her debut EP "Never Like You Think" was listed on New York Music Daily's Top 50 NYC Albums of 2015. She is half of the singing cellist duo The Whiskey Girls and is an active freelancer.

 Lake Mahopac Rotary Club's 6th Annual Doo Wop Rock & Roll Oldies show will be taking place Friday, May 11th at the Mahopac High School starting 7 PM.
The Duprees will headline the Rotary Club's Mother's Day weekend oldies show and will be singing their classic songs such as "You Belong To Me", "Have You Heard" and "My Own True Love".
Vito Picone & The Elegants will be performing at the fundraising event, and will be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of their #1 1958 hit - "Little Star".
Larry Chance & The Earls are back by popular demand and their fans will be hearing "Remember Then", "Life is But A Dream" and "I Believe".

Bandleader Jonny Rosch has performed and recorded as a vocalist, keyboardist, harmonica player and songwriter, for over four decades. A consummate musician and highly respected NYC touring and session player, Rosch has recorded, performed with and/or opened for Joe Walsh, Cyndi Lauper, Jose Feliciano, Joan Jett, Donald Fagen (Steely Dan), Bo Diddley, Lou Reed, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Cornell DuPree, Tommy James and the Shondells, Billy Squier, The James Gang, Phoebe Snow, Alice Cooper, Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), John Oates, Paul Shaffer, Bernie B.B. King, and Paul Simon, among others.
Rosch has toured internationally as the lead singer, front man, and harmonica player for The Original Blues Brothers Band, and performed worldwide at famous venues.

 Tony Garnier is an American bassist (both double bass and bass guitar), best known as an accompanist to Bob Dylan, with whom he has played since 1989. He is Dylan's longest-running sideman, and has sometimes been characterized as his "musical director" as well.
Garnier has also recorded with Tom Waits, Loudon Wainwright III, Paul Simon, Marc Ribot, Eric Andersen, Asleep at the Wheel, The Lounge Lizards, and Robert Gordon. Garnier worked with Michelle Branch on her 3rd album, Everything Comes and Goes, released in 2010.
Tenor/soprano saxophonist Rob Scheps has performed with Gil Evans Band, Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, John Scofield, George Russell, Bob Moses, Terumasa Hino, Al Grey, Clark Terry, Sam Rivers, Julius Hemphill, Duffy Jackson, Cecil Taylor, Joey Calderazzo Quartet..He leads his own bands; Magnets! with Kim Clarke; The Rob Scheps Big Band in Portland, Oregon; and the Rob Scheps Core-tet in NYC; which has a new CD entitled Live at Smalls on the way.
