Ethereal music meets the Andes Mountains...
with Andes Manta, Mamalama
World, New Age
The Old Dutch Church
272 Wall Street
Kingston, NY   See Map
On Saturday June 24th at 8pm, there will be a concert at The Old Dutch Church with a 9-person collaboration between 2 world music ensembles: Andes Manta, a 4 brother band from the Andes mountains of Ecuador who have been touring US for over 25 years, playing over 35 traditional instruments---and Mamalama, a Hudson Valley based indie-orchestra that includes harps, dulcimers, ethereal choral singing, cello, homemade music boxes, and Native American flutes. The concert will feature the original compositions of both ensembles, as well as traditional songs from Native South and North America. The thematic elements of the songs explore an adventurous range of subject matter, including Inuit Mythology, mysticism, traditional Andean dance and festival songs, and the re-creation of natural sounds and environments (whales and oceanic textures, bird soundscapes, rain forest). Saturday June 24th. Doors open at 7:30pm, show at 8pm. $15 at the door

Alternative, Rock (modern)
The Heights at Brother Vics
920 Oakridge Commons
South Salem, NY   See Map
Karma Darwin was formed early 2013 in Brewster, NY. The band consists of Alex Peterson on Guitar and Vocals, Drew Stubbs-Stroud on Guitar and Vocals, John Newton on Bass and Back-up vocals, and Ryan Lowry on Drums. The self-titled album, “KARMA DARWIN”, consists of 18 songs written by Peterson, Stubbs-Stroud, and Newton and is absolutely brought to life by the voices of Peterson and Stubbs-Stroud. The vocal harmonies, reminiscent of 50’s, 60’s style rock-n-roll with a breath of new life, illustrate a journey of love through the end of the world that is driven by the rhythms from Newton and Lowry. The two guitarists display mastery of their instruments on the record, and in live performances, through the epic solos that reflect and enhance the energy of the story they weave. The chemistry from the band as a unit is obvious every time they play and the shows only get better and better

12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Jessi Mason is a singer/songwriter whose songs are honest and intimate, her voice sweet and soulful. Jessi started playing guitar when she was nine years old and began writing original music shortly after. Writing for her is, "a way to express something that [she'd] otherwise be afraid to say out loud." Mason hopes that the qualities of artists who've influenced her -- Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Corinne Bailey Rae and Emily King -- pour out of her music and performances.

Jessi spent her high school years performing around Westchester and NYC in venues such as Silvana, The Bitter End and 12 Grapes, studying at Lagond Music School and recording her debut EP "Hollow." Jessi currently studies performance & songwriting in the popular Music Program at University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.

Tonight Jessi is joined by Jason Robins (bass), Henry Mermer (drums) and Sam Caldwell (keys).

Westchester has a new place for music fans and performers to call home. The Heights in South Salem, opened in February, is filling a long overdue void in the heart of Westchester, and bringing in familiar faces that haven’t been in town for a while. The late 90’s in Westchester had a buzzing music scene, especially the coffeehouse circuit where a lot of local talent honed their craft, among them The Slambovian Circus of Dreams. Voted ’Best Band’ several times by Hudson Valley Magazine, the Slambovians pioneered the now massive Americana genre while staying on the fringes of the music industry - creating the Slambovian Nation of fans here and abroad. The songs themselves appeal to a greater human-ness, sometimes empowering - at times darkly haunting, but always engaging with the wry wit of lead singer Longo at the helm. Elements of Dylan, Bowie, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Incredible String Band, Waterboys, and the Decemberists are all part of the musical mix. When asked to play the new

Vieaux performs Ginastera’s only original composition for guitar, while the Escher String Quartet finds the historical through-line connecting the seemingly disparate quartets of Haydn and Shostakovich. Vieaux joins the quartet for the Boccherini Quintet, which they recorded as part of the Music@Menlo: Bridging the Ages album series.

Two-time Latin Grammy nominee Michael Tate leads 3D Rhythm of Life, a band the blends the sounds of Latin, R&B, Reggae and the flavors of the Caribbean. The band's melodies are reminiscent of classic Latin performers like Marc Anthony and Carlos Santana, and their original style of LATIN-TROPICAL-SOUL.

3D Rhythm of Life's latest release, "FANTASY", is a hit video single and the title of their new full length album. The Latin-Tropical-Soul version of FANTASY is the first of its kind. Originally recorded by the super group Earth Wind and Fire, FANTASY has fast become a mega hit and an international favorite.

3D Rhythm of Life just performed last year at the 10th Annual Peekskill Jazz & Blues Festival, and immediately captivated the crowds with their percussion, vocals and cool Latin-Tropical-Soul sound. This is a DO NOT MISS show! Reservations highly recommended.
