Recognized as “the queen of children’s music,” Laurie Berkner is a singer, songwriter, lyricist, author, and founder of Two Tomatoes Records. She has released eleven bestselling, Award-winning albums, was the first recording artist ever to perform in music videos on Nick Jr., and appeared regularly on the network’s Jack Big Music Show. Laurie’s music has graced the short-form animated series Sing It, Laurie! on 24-hour preschool television channel Sprout, and she has been a frequent guest on Sprout’s Sunny Side Up morning show.

Day Two of Depot Folk belongs to The Mammals (feat. Mike + Ruthy) on Saturday, April 8. Mike Merenda and Ruthy Ungar, a husband-and-wife duo, are skilled multi instrumentalists, singers and songwriters with excellent taste: Their cover of Richard Thompsons 1952 Vincent Black Lightning is a longtime favorite. Veterans of the festival circuit, they've toured the country while maintaining their ties to the Hudson Valley, where they live near Kingston. In 2013 they founded the Summer and Winter Hoot, a pair of annual music festivals benefiting the Ashokan Center. Pete Seeger described the Hoot as "One of the best song-gatherings I've seen in all my 94 years." Mike and Ruthy will lead instrumental workshops in the afternoon and, as The Mammals, perform in the evening.

Phil's political songs helped shape the social consciousness of the protest movements of the 1960s and the messages that they delivered still ring true today. Phil Ochs Night, hosted by Phil's sister, Sonny Ochs and performed by some of our favorite folk musicians promises to be an evening of music as raucous and stirring as the present moment demands! 
Jon Stein will be featured and open mic performances will be available to all. Cost of admission for this event is $6 ($5 for Folk Guild members and seniors). Open mic sign-up at 7 p.m. Jon has been writing songs for many years. He is no stranger to the stage as a singer songwriter or more recently, as an actor. He has been acting since 2005 and has recently been cast in Ghost Train, to be performed at Museum Village in May. He has also been host of The Hootenanny Cafe radio show for the last 21 years. The show is still going strong and airs Sunday nights at 9pm on local radio 93.5fm, WTBQ. Although he doesn't perform as a singer songwriter as much as he used to, he still loves performing when opportunity arises.

Grammy award winning artist Shunzo Ohno is a "brilliant trumpet stylist" whose playing and original compositions have touched millions. A versatile musician who has played, recorded and toured with such renowned leaders as Gil Evans, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, and many others. Mr. Ohno has 16 recordings under his own name as a leader and has appeared on over thirty more as a sideman.

Deep in the Catskill Mountains, where the echo of Crazy Chester and Tiny Montgomery still whisper through the pines, Eric Squindo and Rick Schneider met and combined their love of music, and years of experience to create MISTER ROPER. Since 2009 they have been entertaining audiences.

George Amenta is a 16-year-old Blues vocalist and guitar player from Fishkill, NY playing Chicago and Texas style Blues, both covers and originals. George's backing band, TFM, includes his brother John on drums, father Frank on bass and Bob Conte on harmonica. George has developed quite a reputation in the area, and can often be seen sitting in with such notable musicians as Petey Hop, Todd Mihan, and The Libertine Project, as well as Blues Music Award Nominee, Mr. Slam Allen himself.
Slam Allen was nominated for a 2016 Blues Music Award for the "Best New Artist Album" for "Feel These Blues". He performs at top venues and festivals both nationally and internationally. 12 Grapes is honored to present this up-close-and personal concert with Slam Allen.

The "KLR" Trio is arguably the finest ever of its kind, and to honor their incredible 40-year collaboration we present the ultimate compositional achievement for trio and orchestra, Beethoven's Triple Concerto. Bach's glorious Brandenburg No. 5 and Mozart's gorgeous chamber work will feature members of the Phil in solo roles. This event will take place at the SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center Concert Hall. Ticket prices range from $40 - $97. Recitative, also known by its Italian name “recitativo,” is a style of delivery in which a singer is allowed to adopt the rhythms of ordinary speech—a style that permeates Blake’s music over the folk- and blues-inspired rock laid down by his backing band.

There's a storm brewing and it's the Squall! Lil' Larry Jr. has been singing and playing Funky Rhythm and Blues for over 30 years but from behind the drums. Now lead guitarist, his lively percussive and rhythmic riffs sculpted from years of drumming makes for a unique sound that gets a audience jumping!

Caroline Paton has travelled throughout the United States, Canada and the British Isles in search of folk songs and old ballads. Her vast repertoire derives from the traditional ballad and song lore of the entire English-speaking world. Behind almost every song is a fascinating story relating how, from whom, and where that song was discovered. Caroline accompanies herself on mountain dulcimer and auto harp and will share the stage with some of her finest musician friends from over the years.

Singer/songwriter Bobby Harden has earned an international reputation as "New York’s Soul Man." As lead singer of the world-famous Original Blues Brothers Band, Bobby thrills audiences around the world with his classic R&B/Soul sound. Bobby recently made his debut at Carnegie Hall, performing in "The Black Stars of The Great White Way". As lead singer of the Uptown Horns Revue, Bobby Harden has also shared the stage with Soul Legends Solomon Burke, Eddie Floyd, Ben E. King, Lionel Richie & Robert Cray, establishing Harden as a Soul Legend in his own right.
