Playing the Hammond B3 Organ, Jeremy leads his funky soul-jazz trio performing Blues, Jazz, and Roots Music. Jeremy’s style is informed by the current masters of the groove from the jam-band scene (Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Soul-Live, Derek Trucks Band.) He’s been playing festivals and jazz clubs in the New England region since the release of his first album. JB’s Band was also featured on Boogaloo to McDuff, a tribute to Jack McDuff, available on Scufflin’ Records. Back in the studio for his sophomore release, The Eel, on Flying Yak Records, Jeremy Baum knocks it out of the park with 10 Hammond organ and piano driven arrangements. The Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern, will be featuring Stuart Kabak on Saturday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m. Open mic performances will be available to all. Cost of admission for this event is $6 ($5 for Folk Guild members and seniors).Stuart Kabak, a member of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild since 1985, is a five-time Fast Folk magazine veteran and has won numerous songwriting awards from such organizations as The Great American Song Contest, The Los Angeles International Festival of New Music and The South Florida Folk Festival. | JAKE EHRENREICH is an accomplished musician, playwright and author. He is widely known for writing and performing in the hit musical A Jew Grows in Brooklyn which broke box office records in the heart of Broadway. A book by the same title was published by HCI, the Chicken Soup for the Soul publishers. Jake has also released a CD of Yiddish folk songs dedicated to his Dad entitled “Yiddish Unplugged”. Mr Ehrenreich has appeared on Broadway in Dancin’, Barnum, and They’re Playing Our Song, and toured internationally as Ringo in Beatlemania. As a founding member of Living Colour, Corey earned numerous industry awards including back-to-back Grammys for Best Hard Rock Performance of 1989 ('Cult of Personality') and 1990 (Time's Up) and emerged as one of the most influential rock acts of all time, regularly selling out arenas and selling millions of albums. Veteran musicians Joe Gil (trombone), Neil Alexander (organ and keyboards) and Nadav Snir-Zelniker (drums) have put together a new group called the "Thunderhead Organ Trio". The group is taking the concept of the organ trio in a new and different direction, drawing on many different influences and styles.
The group explores the grittier, rockier side of the genre referencing groups like the original Tony Williams Lifetime and mines the jazz standard repertoire for obscure gems and deep cuts. The group will be playing original tunes, jazz standards, lost classics and rare gems. | ||

"The Black Dirt Band" takes it's name from the fertile farming region in Orange County, New York. Known for it's fiery renditions of blues classics, this band has been turning heads in the Hudson Valley for years. The Black Dirt Band doesn't solely focus on the blues as other genre's find their way into a performance on any given night. The band features several guitarists who rotate through the band on different dates to keep the sounds fresh. Harmonica is also featured throughout.
