Acoustic. 6 and 12-string Fingerstyle Guitar
Unitarian Fellowship Hall
67 South Randolph Avenue
Poughkeepsie, NY   See Map
I am honored to be the feature at this month's Poughkeepsie chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild. My set will be a half hour, and there will be plenty of good music before and after my set. The open mic music begins at 7:30, but if you would like to perform, please be there by 7PM to sign up. You can usually do 2 songs, but occasionally only 1 song depending on how many performers sign up. My set will consist of fingerstyle guitar, which fascinated me the first time I heard it, and it inspired me to take up guitar. I heard people such as Leo Kottke, Mississippi John Hurt, John Fahey, Rev Gary Davis and Dave Van Ronk to name a few. I thought each sounded like a whole band even on solo guitar. I will play both instrumental pieces and some songs on 6 and 12-string guitars in the style of such players.

It is always an enjoyable night of music at the HV Folk Guild. I hope we will see you there.
