![]() The legendary Gil Evans states: “I first heard Ed Palermo’s music in a small club in the SoHo section of Manhattan. He was using the instrumentation of a traditional big band yet his arrangements and songs were anything but that. When I thought the music was going a certain direction, it would suddenly turn a corner. Ed has the ability to keep that important balance between cohesiveness and unpredictability. Ed Palermo’s music is alive and represents now.” The latest release, 'Oh No! Not Jazz!!' consists of two albums - the first explores Ed's distinctive interpretations of Frank Zappa's work and works from original Mothers Of Invention. The second album features Ed's own riotous, colorful compositions.

Ever since I have been little I have wanted to help people and bring more kindness into the world. I am now a junior at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and I still want the same thing. When I was a little girl I almost lost my best friend to childhood leukemia. I would have to say that, that is something that has truly shaped and defined my life, and NOT in a negative way. It has made me realize how precious life is and how grateful we must be for every minute. It also pushed me to think of how I could help other children who are fighting cancer. Last summer I started Jess's Hope which is a small operation in which I make crafts and cards and other presents for the home. The profit goes to helping children with cancer. However, I wanted to do something bigger, so I will be fulfilling that dream by hosting a Holiday Benefit Concert with all proceeds going to help do something nice at this time of year for children with cancer. There will be a silent auction & baked goods!
