 Barbara Dempsey & her husband DeWitt Nelson have been playing together for many years in a variety of genres. The one constant is Barbara's voice, smoky, rich & soulful with hints of Ella Fitzgerald, Bonnie Raitt & Janis Joplin. If you were in the house last February for the High Falls Cafe's "Valentine's Singers Showcase", you'll recall Barbara's amazing rendition of June Christy's masterwork, "Something Cool". This time around, Barbara will be performing a number of tunes from June Christy as well as many of her other favorite female jazz vocalists. Backing up Barbara will be DeWitt Nelson on bass, Ken McGloin on guitar, Larry Balestra on drums, and special guest Ian Bennett on sax.
The High Falls Café will be offering their breakfast & lunch menus, as well as service from the café’s full bar. There’s no cover charge for “Jazz At The Falls" Sunday brunches, however we do pass the hat for donations.

| From deep within the urban forest of Pittsburgh's East End, the Squirrel Hillbillies often emerge to share their eclectic mix of folk, country and blues.
Rabidly social and clawingly curious, they relish opportunities to interact with diverse audiences. They have performed more than 150 shows over the past four years, including recent appearances at the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh and the Leigh Folk Festival in England.
Through a collaborative, nonlinear songwriting process, duo partners Jenny Wolsk Bain and Gary Crouth draw from personal experiences, third-hand stories, and vivid imaginations to craft songs that are unpredictable and quirky yet widely accessible. Their second full-length CD of original music, Goody Shoes, rose to #19 in the national Folk Music Radio Airplay Charts for May 2014, the month after it was released. |

 Chris Beard is a modern blues guitarist and singer like few others. His personal connections to the blues were forged with the living blues men he’s sat with since childhood. “Blues is my roots,” says Chris. “I grew up as Joe Beard’s son in the house of the blues. I grew up around Buddy Guy and Matt Murphy. The influence of Buddy has been major.
In 1998, he released his debut recording, Barwalkin’, on JSP Records. That record earned Beard a W.C. Handy nomination as Best New Blues Artist. in 2005, Beard released Live Wire, a stirring combination of live and studio performances for Northern Blues. However, it was his 2001 album Born To Play The Blues that earned him the title 'Prince of Blues.'

 Lexie Roth is the daughter of guitarist Arlen Roth and his late wife, Deborah. She has been playing music since she was about 8 years old, and has become quite an accomplished guitarist, even though she started out on bass guitar.
She played in several bands in her developing years on both bass and guitar, and was always the featured vocalist. She has appeared on her father’s album Toolin’ Around Woodstock with Levon Helm on drums, and sings Vaya Con Dios on the upcoming release of the Les Paul Tribute Album alongside of Keith Richards, Jose Feliciano, Steve Miller, Slash and many other greats.

 "The Master of the Telecaster," Arlen Roth is "the guitarist's guitarist," a brilliant musician with a remarkable 45-year career.
Vintage Guitar Magazine ranked him One of the Top 100 Influential Guitarists of the Century, performing one of The Top 10 Greatest Recorded Guitar Sounds. His legendary guitar prowess includes one of his specialties, slide guitar.
He has played some of the most resounding rock ever recorded. His acoustic version of "Layla" has been critically acclaimed as being better than Eric Clapton's version. His powerful version of "When a Man Loves a Woman" was called "likely the most intense workout ever recorded on a Telecaster" by Guitar Player Magazine.
The upcoming Slide Guitar Summit album and documentary, which includes the late, great Johnny Winter, David Lindley, Sonny Landreth and other masters, is to be released in the Fall of 2014.

His song writing style is as eclectic as the instruments he plays. Evan Teatum has recorded and performed with 2007 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Patti Smith.

His credits include projects with Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, Kay Gee from Naughty by Nature, Common, and Slick Rick. Harry scored the music for the film "White Boys" directed by Danny Hoch.
