Drawing on Northeastern Brazil's folkloric rhythms like forro and maracatu, and on deep Americana music--from bluegrass to spirituals to swampy Louisiana jams--Matuto uses unexpected Pan-American sonic sympathies to craft appealing, rootsy, yet philosophical tales of love, self-discovery, and true peace.

I have opened for Christine Lavin and Dave Cousins and performed in Showcases and the Open Mic Finals at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY, and appeared in venues in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT. I perform a good mix of songs, including my own compositions, covers, and traditional music.  The 1st Thurs of each month, join saxman and vocalist JP Patrick & his band as they play for each other, and for you. The band explores the musical territory of Blues, R&B, Funk and Jazz. Every installment of "Sessions" is unique, as JP often invites different musicians to sit in and perform.
JP plays Blues harp and alto sax (and sometimes a little stand-up comedy!), and always performs with passion and energy. His audiences feel it... and love it.
Every month, there's a new dynamic on the stage. Tonight, JP is joined by the incredible talents of Dave McDowell on sax, Paulie Biz on bass, Johnny Feds on guitar, Chris Burke on keys and Manny Henry on drums.
You never know what MAGIC may happen at one of JP's Sessions, but you will never be disappointed in the calibre of the music.

 Called "one of the great voices of today," Alexis Cole has been compared to classic jazz singers such as Sarah Vaughan and Anita O'Day. Her luxurious voice and innovative interpretations make her an instant favorite with audiences of all ages.
Cole is the recipient of a Swing Journal Gold Disk award, and was a winner of the NY Jazzmobile and Montreux Jazz Festival vocal competitions. She records for Motéma Music, NY, Chesky Records, NY and Venus Records Japan. Her recordings have received high praise in the jazz press and are spun on radio world-wide. In addition to her many performances at top jazz venues like Dizzy's Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, The Jazz Standard, Blues Alley, and Billboard Live, she's also performed at Avery Fisher Hall and the Kennedy Center and had been a featured soloist with the Boston Pops and NY Philharmonic. Alexis also serves the country as an active duty Staff Sgt. and vocalist for the West Point Band's Jazz Knights.
