| The Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild will be featuring Keith Jordan on Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m. Open mic performances will be available to all. Cost of admission for this event is $6 ($5 for Folk Guild members and seniors).
Keith Jordan is a social worker and mental health professional who uses musical expression to convey messages related to issues that affect the way we live our lives. He is President of the Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild. He has been involved with the SummerSongs music camp and was a vocal student in Amy Fradon’s Vocal Visionary School. The Marlboro Middle School Select Chorus is a group of 27 seventh and eighth graders who auditioned to be a part of this singing ensemble. Their choral director, Mrs. Stephanie Hu, founded the group this year. Members of this group are also in chorus during the school day, Men’s Chorus, and many of the students have been selected to represent the school at region events like, All County Chorus Festival. The students performed at the Veteran’s Day Event hosted at Marlboro Middle School with Time Warner and History Channel event with Senator Larkin and Congressman Gibson in November. The Select Chorus will perform at the school concert at Marlboro High School on Thursday, December 12th at 7 p.m. They are scheduled to perform on 92.1 Lite FM at 8 a.m. on Friday, December 13th. In the Spring, the group will be traveling to Philadelphia to compete in the Heritage Music Festival. | ||

A rare solo acoustic performance by the longtime Hudson Valley based singer/songwriter/guitarist and leader of Pat O'Shea and The Honest Men. O'Shea will be playing original material from his upcoming release (early 2014) as well as songs from Con Safos, The Honest Men's debut recording released earlier this year. O'Shea spent six years as guitarist for Levon Helm as well as countless shows with Blues Legend Hubert Sumlin and blues harmonica masters Steve Guyger and Lil Ronnie Owens. After a brief hiatus O'Shea returned to the music scene in 2011 with his new band The Honest Men. Ricardo presents a special holiday concert. He has studied with noted composer/pianist John Lewis (Modern Jazz Quartet); master composer/pianist Ran Blake; and Jazz guitar legend Sal Salvador, and has been influenced by Robert Johnson, the Beatles, Sam Cooke, and Juan Luis Guerra. All contribute to his unique stew of Rock, Jazz, and Latin. Since 1987 Doug Munro has released eleven albums as leader and over 60 recordings as a sideman, producer, and arranger. He has performed with Dr. John, Michael Brecker, and Dr. Lonnie Smith, among others, and has received two Grammy nominations and two NAIRD awards. Double bassist Ariel de la Portilla has performed with artists from the jazz and Latin jazz genres including Ray Vega, Dave Valentin, Patato Valdez, Candido Camero, Edy Martinez, Willie Martinez, and Sonny Bravo.
