| Pat wrote and performed songs all her adult life, though she slowed down for awhile in that department while pursuing a career and raising three children. Now retired, she is devoting more time than ever to her "hobby." Her songs have been praised highly by Pete Seeger, Peter Yarrow, David Roth, and others. They have a strong folk influence, and cover issues such as peace, religion and the environment, and many personal topics as well.
Rick studied flute, guitar, piano and voice at the University of Bowling Green, Ohio and at Nazareth College of Rochester, New York. He worked his way around Europe several times, singing on cruise ships, in public squares and at cafes and restaurants. He was a regular entertainer at several grand-style resorts throughout New York and New England.

 The late Dewey Balfa once said "A culture is like a tree, you have to water the roots, but you can't go cutting off the branches every time the tree tries to grow". Well, Racines (which means "roots" in French) both waters the roots and stretches outward. A collaborative project of three gentlemen who are all well-known Cajun musicians in their own right, Racines explores the varying musical traditions that call Southwest Louisiana home: Cajun music, Zydeco, blues and more. Their only self-titled cd release garnered a Grammy nomination in 2007.
STEVE RILEY, of Mamou Louisiana, is a widely acknowledged master of the Cajun accordion and its singularly powerful sound. KEVIN WIMMER has been playing fiddle since the tender age of three. He performed frequently with Dewey Balfa and learned the essence of the tradition directly from him. CHRIS STAFFORD is a musician and producer/recording engineer based in Lafayette, LA. He is a four time grammy nominee. |

 Grammy award winning artist Shunzo Ohno is a "brilliant trumpet stylist" whose playing and original compositions have touched millions. A versatile musician who has played, recorded and toured with such renowned leaders as Gil Evans, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, and many others. Mr. Ohno has 16 recordings under his own name as a leader and has appeared on over thirty more as a sideman.
Born in Gifu, Japan, Shunzo's career hit high gear when toured with Art Blakey‘s Jazz Messengers. The compelling Latin energy in Shunzo's playing can be linked to his tenure with the celebrated Machito and his Afro-Cuban Orchestra and he recorded the Grammy Award-winning album with Machito and His Salsa Big Band (1983).
Shunzo then joined master arranger and composer Gil Evans, becoming a key contributor on recordings, including the 1988 Grammy Award-winning "Live at Sweet Basil". Shunzo made a total of four recordings with Evans, who remained a lifelong mentor to him.

The band performs classic Swing music, Sinatra, Broadway selections and songs from the '40's, '50's and more.
Greg Westhoff has performed on the Tonight Show and is the orchestra drummer for "Family Guy". Greg also performed with Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band on the popular disco-era hit " A Fifth of Beethoven".  Saxophonist and composer Keith Pray has traveled and shared stages with Paul Anka, Benny Golson, The Temptations, Ray Vega, Mark Vinci, Jerry Weldon and Ralph Lalama to name a few. Keith performs regularly and has taught saxophone at SUNY Oneonta, jazz arranging, jazz history and applied saxophone at Schenectady County Community College and currently teaches instrumental music for the Schenectady City School District while also directing the Proctors Summer Jazz Institute and the Youth Brass Band Mentorship Program.
Having worked on dozens of recordings, he was honored as a featured soloist on the Grammy Nominated Entres Amigos by Alex Torres and the Latin Kings. With five albums under his name, Keith continues to write and record his music and maintains a busy performance schedule.

 Dave Samuels has established himself as the top mallet player of his generation. He is recognized for his fresh new sound and creative approach to both the vibraphone and marimba.
Ron Oswanski, has performed with some of the most renowned musicians in jazz and contemporary music. His touring credits include world tours with Maynard Ferguson's Big Bop Nouveau.,
Performer and composer/arranger, Marko has played with some of the greatest mentors/performers in jazz. He has toured with numerous school ensembles throughout Florida, Brazil and Italy.
Joel Frahm and pianist, Brad Mehldau met in high school and formed what was to become a long-lasting and productive musical relationship. He played with Maynard Ferguson and Larry Goldings and was a member of Mehldau’s quartet with bass player Dwayne Burno and drummer Greg Hutchinson. Not only does Frahm have full command of the instruments he plays, he is inventive and adventurous, as well.

 Pianist Marco Benevento has been amassing an extensive resume of composition and collaboration. His studio albums have set forth a vision that connects the dots between Explosions In The Sky and Tortoise on one side, Brian Eno and Brad Mehldau on the other. In the live setting, his performances reverberate with pulsating dance rock energy.
The 35-year old artist took a major step forward with the release of his most recent album, TigerFace.Recorded & mixed by Tom Biller (Silversun Pickups) and Bryce Goggin (Pavement), TigerFace features a stellar cast of musicians recruited to help capture his ideas, including drummers Matt Chamberlain (Pearl Jam), John McEntire (The Sea & The Cake) and Andrew Barr (The Barr Brothers), bassists Dave Dreiwitz (Ween) and Mike Gordon (Phish) and saxophonist Stuart Bogie (Antibalas, Superhuman Happiness).

MOPCO brings its unique brand of improv to Proctors -- Friday nights at 8:00pm.
Created by Kat Koppett in association with Freestyle Repertory Theatre in New York, Spontaneous Broadway is a virtouso evening of musical improv.
The audience submits titles of "songs that have never been written". In a fictional "backer's audition", these titles inspire improvised songs in act one. In act two, the audience's favorite song serves as the basis of an entire (45 minute) Broadway musical, complete with costumes and set.
The format received a rave review from The New York Times when it premiered in New York in 1995. You ain’t seen nuttin’ like it, folks!

 With his distinct bass tone, Christopher Brown has pleased audiences for more than two decades with his repertoire of musical stories. Chris' special view of the world is portrayed honestly and humorously through his innovative, story-telling lyric, enlivened by a unique blend of folk, country and rock & roll. A reviewer recently wrote, "his sound might best be described as James Taylor meets Johnny Cash."
Chris calls his new album "Characterist". That's because he is not only a singer/songwriter, but an artist/illustrator who can capture a subject's essence through caricature. With a few strokes, he reveals hints of a character's nature or temperament, their mystery or charm. He does the same thing with lyric and melody, outlining and shading characters and moments, even yearnings and states of mind. His deep rumble of a voice can be as direct as an approaching train, yet warm and forgiving.
Chris will be joined by master guitarist and composer Peter Calo.

The next Monday night jazz session at Quinn's will present one of the Hudson Valley's finest, most forward-thinking guitarists, Rich Rosenthal, leading his quartet -- Chris Kelsey on saxophones, Craig Nixon on bass and Dean Sharp on drums -- in celebration of their debut CD release Falling Up. The Rich Rosenthal Quartet performs at Quinn's on Monday, December 9th. Quinn's is located at 330 Main Street in Beacon, NY. As with all Monday jazz sessions at Quinn's, the performance begins at 8 PM and there will be no cover charge at the door, though donations for the artists will be requested and gratefully accepted. 
In bridging the worlds of Delta blues icon Skip James and improvised art music, drummer Ted Poor turns to two masters of melody and texture: the keyboardist Pete Rende and, in a rare East Coast appearance, the trumpeter Cuong Vu. Renowned innovators in their own right, Poor, Rende and Vu convene to tackle a combination of new compositions and arrangements of Mississippi delta blues.
