We first met The Flaming Meatballs at one of our Kids Open Mic Nights, and you'll be as blown away by their talent as we were.

Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Certain musicians and bands bring bliss and emotion that is "better than any drug on the planet" to Jamie Shields. But folk music speaks to her soul. And it is in the folk music genre that Jamie found herself, writing straight from the heart about real-life events. "My journey in music is just beginning, and I hope you will join me for the ride," says Jamie.

Jessi Mason likes to cover new music and also likes to reinvent old classics and give them a modern twist. Jessi is also a songwriter. "Fly Away" is about the stress of high school and "Where Have You Been?" is a love song about her one true love: her guitar. Jessi is just 15 years old and a sophomore at Briarcliff High School. Jessi will be joined tonight by her friend, singer/songwriter Tyler Cottrell. The duo will be showing off their harmonizing talents tonight!

Join us tonight for another Sunday Singer/Songwriter Showcase. Live music that's "better than any drug on the planet!"

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
As the lead singer and songwriter of Animal Logic with drummer Stewart Copeland (The Police) and jazz bassist Stanley Clarke, DEBORAH HOLLAND was introduced to the world via two critically acclaimed albums, appearances on David Letterman, The Tonight Show, VH-1, MTV, a recorded duet with Jackson Browne, and live performances at major venues throughout the world. After four solo CDs that garnered international radio play and glowing reviews, she went on to record and tour with the folk/Americana “super-group” The Refugees, whose CDs won multiple awards and were recognized on many “best of” lists. Since 2010 she has been living in Vancouver, BC. The new city and country served as a powerful muse for her new solo album titled appropriately, VANCOUVER, on RageOn Records. Many who have heard the record feel it’s her strongest yet. As on Deborah’s past solo records the musical styles are folk-pop and roots-based and feature her distinctive voice and her smart and poetic lyrics out front.

Oswanski has forged a lithe, lyrical and rhythmically charged contemporary sound steeped in the B3’s earthy roots but informed by post-bop developments. He showcases his multifaceted sensibility on his stellar CD December’s Moon , a revelatory debut album featuring heavyweights such as guitarist John Abercrombie , bassist John Patitucci , drummer Clarence Penn , and saxophonist Tim Ries , who produced the project. Ranging from Led Zeppelin to Kenny Wheeler, December’s Moon gives a sense of Oswanski’s scope.

Oswanski has been keeping company with formidable musicians for more than two decades. Since recruited by Maynard Ferguson’s Big Bop Nouveau Band as a teenager, he’s collaborated with the Maria Schneider Orchestra, Tim Ries and The Rolling Stones Project, Jack Wilkins and Mike Clark, Milt Hinton, Myron Walden’s Countryfied, Dave Berger and the Sultans of Swing, , as well as music icons The Temptations, Aretha Franklin and Blood, Sweat and Tears.
