Come celibrate Vito's birthday!
with Opening Act -- Vito Petroccitto
Blues. Rock, Guitarist, Singer
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Vito Petroccitto is magic. And we’re not just talking about the way he deftly casts alternating spells on his audiences, moving them either to awe, tears, full-out belly laughs, or all three at once. Armed only with his gritty, dirty, swampy telecaster guitar, his crazy-good vocal chords, and more than a touch of genius, Vito has somehow figured out how to do the work of ten men. If he’s not performing all over the Hudson Valley with “Four Guys in Disguise” (the band he co-founded in 1989, voted “Best of the Hudson Valley” for years running), he’s out gigging with his newest brainchild, “Left by the Wayside:” a swampy blues and funk band. Think Little Feat meets John Fogerty meets the Grateful Dead. And if he’s not rocking around the valley with his own two bands, he’s opening for major acts.

Vito Petroccitto is larger than life, both literally and figuratively. If you don’t leave an encounter with him smiling your head off, you may have no soul.

Banda Magda
South American Jazz
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Banda Magda boasts an intricate, tropical and eclectic sound, drawing from worldchansons infused in South American grooves with a twist of jazz.

On stage, Banda Magda has the image of an intense compilation of vibraphone, guitar, bass, vocals, accordion, piano and a cataclysmic overload of percussion surrounding the charismatic Magda Giannikou, founder, leader and singer of this hip, mod and ultimately fantastic group.

Chef d’orcheste, singer, composer, producer, arranger, pianist and accordionist Magda Giannikou comes from Athens, Greece, lives in New York, and writes songs in French, with South American musical influences. (!!!) And one could easily be skeptical about how one could seamlessly blend all those elements until they hear the result on stage.

Exoticm, lyricism, impeccable feet-stomping groove, subtlety and depth of emotion. Formed in New York in 2010, Banda Magda appear regularly in venues all over New York City.

Tony Trischka is perhaps the most influential banjo player in the roots music world. For more than 35 years, his stylings have inspired a whole generation of bluegrass and acoustic musicians. He has performed and recorded with everyone from Steve Martin to Doc Watson to the Boston Pops. His recording Double Banjo Bluegrass Spectacular received IBMA awards for Recorded Event of the Year, Instrumental Album of the Year and a Grammy Nomination. With his fearless musical curiosity as the guiding force, Tony Trischka's latest elease, Territory roams widely through the banjo's creative terrain.

Phoebe's Place

Teaneck, NJ   See Map
I am so excited to be playing a show about three blocks from where I spent my entire childhood! This is a new arts café that derives its name from another former (though much more renowned) Teaneckian, the late, great Phoebe Snow. (I went to school with her younger sister, in fact.)

From a Star Ledger article: "Phoebe's Place, a new space dedicated to music, art, and poetry, is taking over the old Blast Coffee Bar space at 445 Cedar Lane...Phoebe's Place promises food as well as music and poetry. Michelle Schotanus, the former owner and chef of the respected and sorely missed Salsa! Mexican restaurant in Edgewater has agreed to take her talents to Teaneck. Lunch will be served from noon until 4 p.m. from Monday through Friday; dinner hours are 6 p.m to 10 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday."

There you have it! I very seldom get to that area, so I sure hope you can come!

Now, TJay is a singer/songwriter/guitarist, but don't let the singer/songwriter brand fool you. TJay's style of writing incorporates Rock/Pop with Jazz and Funk to create an independent sound with huge potential for crossover.

Drawing on influences such as Blues Traveler, Steely Dan, Billy Joel, Steve Miller Band, Dave Matthews, Maroon 5, and John Mayer, TJay's music is uniquely timeless and speaks to any musical taste.

His latest full-lenth studio album is entitled "Pivot" and features John Popper (of Blues Traveler) on harmonica and Ryan MacMillan (of Matchbox 20) on drums.
