The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Teri Roiger will be singing the music of Abbey Lincoln on JUNETEENTH (June 19th), the annual holiday celebrating the announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. Teri will be singing songs off her new CD plus songs from the albums Lincoln recorded with Max Roach during the civil rights movement: WE INSIST: FREEDOM NOW SUITE (1960) and STRAIGHT AHEAD (1961).

WE INSIST was the first of several jazz albums voicing the growing demand for equal rights with the vision to perform it on the centennial of the Emancipation Proclamation (1963).

STRAIGHT AHEAD also captures the spirit of the rising civil rights movement and showcases Lincoln’s talents as a lyricist, mixing personal confession with larger social and political implications. Her ability to express human struggle through the beauty of music continued with her own compositions recorded by Roiger on her latest CD.

Old Mill House Park (next to McDonalds)
Rte 44
Pleasant Valley , NY   See Map
The Blue Mountain Band is based in Dutchess County NY and is in demand for concerts and club dates from Philadelphia, Boston, Albany and upstate NY . Featuring the warm vocals and presence of Bob Stump. Delivering a diverse song selection. Influenced by bluegrass, country blues, folk, western swing , jazz standards & traditional instrumentals. The original music they present is a unique melting pot of Americana. If you listen close to "Roadside Attraction " the title cut from their bluegrass charged CD you can hear an Everly Brothers chord vamp mixed in with a classic Bluegrass "G" run, mixed in with an Irish Scottish fiddle tune. This is only a piece of the puzzle that makes up this musical hybrid. The stories that float along the top of these melodic waves in three part harmony are the ship the band is sailing to complete the picture. Performing this show are Bob Stump on guitar, Johnny Resk on cajon and drums with Eric Rossi Marshall on the big bass.

Funk Blues and Soul-jazz wtih The JB3 Trio!!!
with Jeremy Baum, Matt Finck, Chris Reddan
Blues, Jazz, and Rock (classic). Soul-Jazz
Art Bar
6367 Mill St
Rhinebeck, NY   See Map
Come out for some soul-jazz and blues with the JB3 Trio. In the tradition of Booker T & the Mgs and the Meters, Jeremy and his cohorts will be bringing the funk to the ArtBar!

With the bad mofo Matt Finck on guitar and ridiculously scary Chris Reddan on drums.

Hang on to your spleens, this is going to be epic.!!!

Jb (Hammond Organ) toured for over 6 years with Grammy nominated singer Shemekia Copeland. With Chris Reddan on drums and Matt Finck on guitar/vocals.

Both traditional and trailblazing...Highly recommended. ***Blues Review Magazine***

Baum's playing has a deep funk to it, with a big influence of Jimmy Smith. And Baum also brings in all kinds of other things as well - dissonant jazz, alternative rock, R&B. He's not too far off from what John Medeski does with Medeski, Martin and Wood, but with more of a blues streak to it. ***Jim Trageser. Escondido, Calif. ***

Johnny's work as a sideman has taken him around the world, including a seven-year stint leading legendary J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf's group and also co-producing Wolf's solo album Long Line, which garnered a four-star review in Rolling Stone. Only the finest musicians have the ability to capture the nuances of life in sound, which puts Johnny in a very exclusive group of six-stringers that includes Les Paul, Wes Montgomery, Jeff Beck, Chet Atkins, and Jimi Hendrix.

Gibson Custom introduced the Johnny A. Signature Model in 2003. "Creating an artist signature model guitar is not something we take lightly," says Gibson senior VP Rick Gembar. "But sometimes a player comes along who is not only a musical innovator and artist of the highest-caliber, but has innovative ideas about designing a totally new instrument. And that's Johnny, who just knocked us off our feet."

Johnny A. has one of the most eloquent voices in modern music - and he doesn't sing a note.

For Zal Idrissa Sissokho music is about reminding us of who we are, keeping us connected to our history, and sharing between cultures. Sissokho is from Senegal in West Africa but has lived in Montreal since 1999. He comes from a family of griots, the African storytellers who transmit the tradition and history of the Mande Empire from one generation to the next. Sissokho has performed internationally both solo and with his band Buntalo.

“The kora is an interesting instrument. In the tradition, it is played for the Kings.  But today, the kora has become one of the most revolutionary instruments. You find it in every style in the music in the world. You can find it in jazz, in Afro-Manding, Afro-Brazilian, hip-hop, Samba, salsa…” - Zal Idrissa Sissokho

Marilyn Miller
Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter
Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
Hudson, NY and the surrounding towns have been home for singer/songwriter Marilyn Miller for most of her life, and her music often deals with the contradictions inherent in an area which is at once both very rural and very urban. You will find her most often encouraging others at an open mic, having an open jam at her country home, supporting a farmers' market or other cause, or busking on the streets of her hometown. It is no surprise that, given the diversity of her sounds, her favorite musician is Neil Young, a man well known to follow his muse wherever it takes him. His influence is very evident in the songs Marilyn writes, and in how she approaches the art of music. As a performer, Marilyn is most often compared to Patti Smith, no doubt due to the high energy she displays in presenting her work, and her dedication to always seeking the truth in the music. Her goal is to provide the listener with sounds that make a person move, think and feel, and she does deliver.

Carmen Pascucci is a Singer/Songwriter/Recording & Performing Artist She spent her youth traveling through Europe, studying, singing, and learning everything she could about music.

What grew out of that is a unique combination of pop/rock/folk, the sophistication of classical music and a soulful writing style. Carmen is a tiny powerhouse with an eclectic presence on stage. She pulls you in with her joyful exuberance, energy, and her inviting, casual style, and seduces you with her strong, clear, but sultry voice. She is one of those rare performers who can easily cross musical genres, transitioning on stage into whatever music she is performing. She always leaves her audience surprised and happy, and asking the question..”WHERE did that voice and all that power come from?!”
