Esopus Creek Conservancy is sponsoring a guided kayak and canoe tour of Esopus Bend Nature Preserve on Saturday, May 05, 2012. Participants will paddle the tranquil waters of the Esopus Creek above the dam in Saugerties, visiting the coves and wetlands of Esopus Bend Nature Preserve, and the shoreline to the south.
Meet 9:30 a.m. at the Saugerties Village Beach parking lot on Rte. 9W, just north of the Esopus Creek bridge, at the foot of Partition Street in the Village of Saugerties. Participants will put-in at the beach.
Bring your own kayak or canoe. All participants MUST wear a personal floatation device (life vest). Rain or thunderstorms will cancel the paddle. Children are welcome and encouraged, but please do not bring pets.

This ECC Environmental Education paddle is free and open to the public, but limited to a maximum of ten watercraft.  Kristen Capolino is an emerging young songwriter/ Rock guitar phenom. Kristen has shared the stage and recorded with Les Paul, Earl Slick, Michael Schenker and many other notable guitarists. She has guitar endorsements from Gibson, Paul Reed Smith and now DRG, who's creating a custom "V" guitar for her. Kristen is 22 years old.
Kristen has been writing and recording with Earl Slick, with David Bowie's band, with Kings X, and is now writing and getting ready to record with Kenny Greenberg and Ashley Cleveland in Nashville. Kristen will soon be featured in a documentary "Turn It Up", placed between Slash & Santana. Craig Goldy (Dio's guitarist) told Kristen she plays with the intensity of a male guitarist. "I'm definitely flattered by such a compliment."
Kristen has performed at the Tampa/St. Pete Arena and the James Burton International Guitar Festival. It's an honor to have Kristen perform on our stage.

| My primary instrument is my voice, and my guitar embellishes, accompanies, and decorates it. My sound and style are my own. Exposure to music and vocal styles of all types, ranging from standards to jazz to folk/traditional to blues, and to the music of Great Britain, the Appalachian Mountains of Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina, have influenced my sound and led me to describe my music as "eclectic acoustic." I have opened for Christine Lavin and Dave Cousins and performed in Showcases and the Open Mic Finals at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY, and appeared in venues in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT. I perform a good mix of songs, including my own compositions, covers, and traditional music. I like to tell the stories of the traditional songs I sing and might focus on the song's provenance, themes, imagery, history, depiction of characters, etc. Listeners tell me that they enjoy learning about this traditional music. |

Cyrille was a finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition of 2010 and, in 2007, won both the 1st and public prize in the Montreux Jazz Festival Competition. At the young age of 27, she has released four CDs, including "Smile" with Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo. Her latest record "Cyrille Aimée & friends Live at Smalls" features Roy Hargrove and Joel Frahm.

 Curtis Winchester is a smooth R&B vocalist who recently released his first CD, "Do the Natural Thing", produced by Stoopid Daddy Records and Grammy award winning engineer Larry Alexander. Curtis is known as the man with the "10,000 kilowatt smile" and his unique vocal style evokes not only classic Motown, but other influences as well, like Robert Cray and Taj Mahal. Curtis is also "the voice" of Grammy nominated guitarist Gil Parris and his band.
"Twisted Soul" is a 5-piece band performing some of Curtis' original songs from "Natural Thing" along with some Motown, Soul, Funk and R&B. With Scott Staton on Keys/Vox, Chris Vitarello on Guitars/Vox, Eric Perez on Drums and Marshall Toppo on Bass. It'll be a grooving night of dance music, for sure!!
