Jim Paradis
Acoustic
Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
Jim Paradis has been playing in bands since he picked up his first bass guitar when he was 13. He's no stranger to all types of music and has played in bands of all styles from a progressive rock garage band to a down and dirty touring Rock and Roll band. Even in those early days he was often involved in original music but, in 1993, after a haitus from music, he got reacquainted with his muse by recording a song he had written for his family called "Juniper Knoll". "It was enough of a rush to want to keep on doing it" he says.

Since then Jim has written hundreds of songs, recorded 3 CD's with October Moon, 2 solo Cds, "You Are Here", an inspirational look at life, and, "Almost Home", a journey through several significant life changes and the ups and downs that inevitably accompany those changes. Not interested in waiting that long again between CD's, Jim is currently in the studio working on his next CD, "Not Finished Yet" due for a late Spring 2011 release.

Music Menu @ Mezzaluna
with Trio Mio, Kiriaki Bozas
Pop/Soft Rock, Acoustic
Cafe Mezzaluna
626 Rte 212
Saugerties, NY   See Map
Arithmetically challenged from the start, Trio Mio is “the world’s only 4-1/2 piece trio.” Their original folk-rock repertoire features Fran Palmieri’s songs highlighting 19th century politicians and artists, modern love, Shakespeare’s timeless stories, or some other unique perspectives on life in our world.

Music has always taken the wheel for Kiriaki Bozas. Since the age of 8 she has been writing emotionally-moving songs imbued with romance and epic drama on the piano. “...songs that convey yearning, hope, mystery and contentment . But she also uses her lyrics to sling daggers, wander through self-deprecation and ponder her own insignificance.” John Barry, Poughkeepsie Journal

The "Metropolitan Hot Club" is a gypsy jazz group that plays the hot swing of the 30s and 40s. An impressive repertoire of period music, along with newer favorites and a growing body of original compositions, make for an unforgetable listening, experience. You'll probably want to bring your dancing shoes too.

BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Conjunto Sazon was inspired by the music of Cuba and Puerto Rico. The band, a small conjunto with a huge sound, identifies with the rhythms and melodies of the Caribbean; Salsa, Son, Rumba, Bomba, Plena, as well as Merengue. The veteran musicians of this conjunto, to their credit, have performed and recorded with world renowned artists such as Celia Cruz, Pete "El Conde" Rodriquez, Eddie Palmieri, Monguito "el unico", los Kimbos, and the New Swing Sextet to name a few. This conjunto creates a traditional/modern energetic sound by placing the interlocking rhythmic figures of percussion and Cuban Tres under a smoothly swinging melody to create a ".... new sound Conjunto Sazon.”

It's Open Mic Night again at Aroma Thyme Friday February 3rd, 2011 10pm

It's that time of the month again, for the ever so popular Open Mic Night at Aroma Thyme Bistro. All are welcome to open mic nights. This has become a monthly tradition at Aroma Thyme for the past three years. We have seen some incredibly talented acts. We are constantly amazed from locals to people that travel up to an hour to perform. ...Of course we have our regulars, which we love. And there's always a new act of some sort to welcome each month.

The kitchen is open until midnight for everything from small bites to a full dinner. Plus the bar is well stocked with Small Batch Bourbon's, elegant Single Malt Scotch, almost 200 beers, over 250 wines and a trendy martini menu.

Hit the "road" with us.....at Rhodes.....BRILLIANT!!!

THE SHOTS have a unique twist to some of the covers and originals they play....“Rocking Bagpipes” - They mix in the bagpipes to songs like The Black Eyed Peas, “I Gotta Feeling,” Billy Idol, “Dancing with Myself,” or AC/DC, “It’s a long Way to the Top”.

As a matter of fact, Lenny’s original reggae bagpipe tune, "The Rasta Piper" won 2nd place in World Music in the 2006 Billboard Song contest.
