Created by Kat Koppett in association with Freestyle Repertory Theatre in New York, Spontaneous Broadway is a virtouso evening of musical improv. The audience submits titles of "songs that have never been written". In a fictional "backer's audition", these titles inspire improvised songs in act one. In act two, the audience's favorite song serves as the basis of an entire (45 minute) Broadway musical, complete with costumes and set. The format received a rave review from The New York Times when it premiered in New York in 1995. You ain’t seen nuttin’ like it, folks! Friday 8:00 pm | Solo Artist with Diego Garcia Singer-Songwriter | The Linda WAMC's Performing Arts Studio 339 Central Ave Albany, NY See Map |
| Born in Detroit to Argentine parents in the late 1970s, Diego Garcia immersed himself in the sounds of Iggy Pop and MC5 at an early age. Music carried him throughout his tenure until his cardiologist father moved the family back to Tampa, FL when Garcia was a young teenager, and by age 14 he got himself an acoustic guitar and started writing songs. As Garcia approached college life at Brown University in 1996, music was still calling him despite his course load in economics. During his junior year, Garcia realized he wanted a career in music instead. He left for New York City upon his 2000 graduation and began to look for musicians, eventually playing with the band Circus for a brief time. A year later, Garcia formed Elefant with bassist Jeff Berrall, guitarist Mod, and drummer Kevin McAdams. In 2010 Diego Garcia pursued a solo career Buy Tickets | ||

Together for the first time, two of the area's most well-loved singers and band leaders. Andrea Ekizian is "Andrea" of the Armenian Rug Riders, a lead singer who has talent and energy to burn. Andrea is known for her amazing renditions of some of the classic Rock tunes of all time. Andrew Bordeaux (The Drew Bordeaux Group, Reservoir Pogs, The Track) is a singer/songwriter and an accomplished guitarist, violinist and performer. NY music reviewer Kevin Johnston wrote this about Drew: "His guitar work is the real deal... A lot of players have forgotten what the rock solo is for, but Drew knows and he uses it to take the music to a new level. And just to make sure you stay interested, he switches to electric violin." We're excited to present these two talented musicians in their first-ever collaboration. They'll be performing Stones, Pretenders, Carly Simon, Sheryl Crow & more. This could be the start of something big. **$5 Entertainment Fee for all, including diners** | ||
