| Rupert Wates was born in London. He has been a full time songwriter since 1992 when he signed an exclusive deal with Eaton Music Publishing. He has written songs in all kinds of styles for all kinds of artists. Moving to Paris in 2001, he developed his skills as a singer and performer and formed his own group.Since September 2006, Rupert has been based in the USA. His music has found a warm reception in America and in 2007 alone he has been nominated eight times for songwriting awards. On his latest CD, "A Very Gypsy Christmas" he demonstrates his long standing love affair with the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Greppelli with 15 of the swingingest Gypsy Jazz versions of Christmas favorites you’ve ever heard. These are not the same old tired versions of traditional Christmas songs but brand new, reworked arrangements. Each track is a musical event unto itself.

The Poughkeepsie Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild continues its 2011-2012 coffee house series on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the Unitarian Fellowship, South Randolph Ave., Poughkeepsie. The coffeehouse performances start at 7:30 pm with an
open-mic format followed by featured performers, Phil Miller and Betty Altman.
A performance by Phil Miller and Betty Altman starts with deep roots in tradition of the singer-songwriter. To those roots add musical versatility and contemporary themes. You end up with a unique sound that combines Betty’s breathtaking vocals with Phil’s instrumental dexterity on guitar. Their repertoire features their own compositions as well as songs by traditional and contemporary artists. Their easy manner on stage encourages audience participation, and contributes to very entertaining performances.

Singer Christine Dominguez co-authored this year's Grammy nominated hit song "Airplanes" by B.o.B and is collaborating with artists and producers in the Hip Hop/Urban community where her distinct and soulful vocals are in demand. T. Xiques started gigging as a drummer at age 15 and tours across the US, Canada, Europe and Malaysia with artists like Savoy Brown, Dr.Know and Daryl Jenifer (Bad Brains), Colin Hay and Brother, among others.
They call their sound "Organic Pop", a sound they created with their soulful vocals and an assortment of instruments, from piano and acoustic guitar to 5-string bass and cajon drum. We're really looking forward to the return of WeMustBe.

Ray's newest CD, "Berries and Blues" serves you the fruits of his music-a story is told by merging jazz, blues and African folk rhythms. The players chosen for this project are brilliant musicians who came together on the gig in Paris, with a chemistry and sound that was nothing less than exceptional.
Ray has preformed with Steve Turre, Eddie Henderson, Gary Bartz, T.K. Blue, Bob Gaddy, Wycliff Gordon and Benny Powell. He plays with The Spirit of Life Ensemble and tours with The Ray Charles Show.
The Ray Blue Sound is at once big and warm, dynamic and romantic, nostalgic and modern. It's "Blue Jazz".

KJ's special blend of "Urban Folk & Jazz" has earned her 4 Independent Music Award nominations and in 2009, she was named one of Jazz.com's top female vocalists. Her CD, "Another Year Gone By" won the 2006 Independent Music Award for Best Live Performance. KJ has appeared at scores of festivals including the prestigious Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy. She is a frequent performer at clubs in NYC as well as the Baz Bar in St. Bart's. Her latest CD, "Album No.9", is a collection of 60's Jazz, Pop & Rock standards, a diverse range of songs like Help, The Shadow of Your Smile, Pennies From Heaven and more.
