 If you frequent 12 Grapes Kids' Open Mic or Rock Jam, you've probably seen Manny and Paulie before. And if you've seen them perform, you won't be surprised to know these talented kids have a band.
Formerly known as the Peekskill Middle School Rock/Jazz Band, this talented group of musicians are now making a name for themselves as "Bakklash". The band performs a variety of Jazz and Rock classics from The Beatles, The Eagles, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Steve Perry, Herbie Hancock, Paramore, All Time Low. Foo Fighters, and many many more.
With Emmanuel "Manny" Henry on drums, Paul "Paulie" Beladino on lead guitar, Jake Albi on guitar, John Winton on tenor sax, & Josh Norberto on bass.

 We have a special treat tonight... opening up for Mishti is a singer/songwriter from Nashville. Norma Jean Martine (pronounced like the drink, martini) has a beautiful, powerful voice that will stop you in your tracks (just as Mishti does). This will be Norma Jean's debut performance at 12 Grapes and we can't wait.
Norma Jean is originally from Middletown, NY, and has recently relocated to Nashville. For the past several months, she's been abroad, studying in London. NJ has been performing gigs as far north as Warwick and as far south as Nashville and has built up quite a fan base.

 People who know Mishti are in awe of her talent. To those who've never seen her perform, take our advice: You should.
Mishti's music has been described as "coasting between a bottom-heavy Zeppelin Rock, Blues-infused grooves, Thelonius Monk-inspired guitar work, and a Nina Simone-style wail-to-whisper." Always looking to cultivate a connection with her audience, she strives to create an experience that grabs listeners both emotionally, and "by the balls". Mishti's band features the amazingly talented Mani Cregan (guitar), Anthony Candullo (drums/bass), Chris Burke (keys), and vocalist Danielle Brown.
Tonight, Mishti will be celebrating the debut of her soon-to-be-released EP called "Fortunes in Footsteps". It's a collection of original works that came "after a period of a paralyzing songwriting-phobia, an inevitable episode of incurable heartbreak" and finally, "wine-induced clarity." We like that.

 The Chris O'Leary Band just won The 2011 Blues Blast Awards for New Artist Debut Release for their CD "Mr. Used To Be". The band performed live on WGLT Blues radio. They were also a finalist at the 32nd Annual Blues Music Awards in Memphis for Best New Artist Debut.
We're not surprised. Chris O'Leary is one of the Hudson Valley's hottest Blues harp players, and his band is made up of seasoned Blues musicians, including "scorching" blues guitarist Chris Vitarello, Sean McCarthy on drums, Willa McCarthy on vocals, Frankie Ingrao on bass, and Andy Stahl and Chris DiFrancesco on sax. The band's powerful, horn-driven sets are marked by O'Leary wailing on harmonica.
Chris O'Leary was the lead singer and front man for Levon Helm for over 7 years, and has performed with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmy Vivino, Dave Maxwell and many others. If you love great Blues, don't miss this night!
