This is a beautiful and unique way to support a very underserved segment of the community. As hard as our local farmers have been hit by the storms of late summer and early fall (i.e., Irene, Lee, and Mr Frosty), the farmworker community has been hit at least that hard, and to our knowledge there really has not been much of any kind of mechanism to provide them with the basic help they need, namely just to feed their families. Here's a way ~ a lovely and delicious way ~ you can help. Come to the Seligmann Gallery/Studio, buy a beautiful hand-made bowl for a mere $10 (or even more, if you can swing it), get that bowl filled with some delicious, donated, home-made soup, and listen to some delicious, donated live music. You'll be so glad you did. Proceeds go directly to the Alamo Farmworkers' Food Pantry. Thank you! For more info about the farmworkers' plight.

Saturday 8:00 pm | Diana Jones Singer-Songwriter, Folk/Traditional, and Country | Common Ground Folk Series at Lewisboro Library 15 Main Street South Salem, NY See Map |
High Atmosphere, the third album in the remarkable career arc of singer-songwriter Diana Jones, hits with the force of a revelation, further deepening an unprecedented body of work that began in 2006 with My Remembrance of You and continued with 2009’s Better Times Will Come. On her new release (due out in April on Proper Records), recorded entirely live with simpatico musicians at Quad studios in Nashville, this single-minded artist continues to hew to an austere, plainspoken aesthetic, yet its timelessly homespun frameworks are embedded with distinctly topical subject matter. As Bill Friskics-Warren so aptly pointed out in his New York Times profile, Jones “approaches the mountain-ballad tradition not as a curiosity or antique but as a renewable vernacular that’s just as capable of speaking to the human condition now as it was 80 years ago.”For more info and advance tickets click here

![]() Sunday 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm | Maggie Seligman Acoustic, Folk/Traditional, and Americana | Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe 40 West Market Street Red Hook, NY See Map |
| My primary instrument is my voice, and my guitar embellishes, accompanies, and decorates it. My sound and style are my own. Exposure to music and vocal styles of all types, ranging from standards to jazz to folk/traditional to blues, and to the music of Great Britain, the Appalachian Mountains of Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina, have influenced my sound and led me to describe my music as "eclectic acoustic." I have opened for Christine Lavin and Dave Cousins and performed in Showcases and the Open Mic Finals at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY, and appeared in venues in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT. I perform a good mix of songs, including my own compositions, covers, and traditional music. I like to tell the stories of the traditional songs I sing and might focus on the song's provenance, themes, imagery, history, depiction of characters, etc. Listeners tell me that they enjoy learning about this traditional music. | ||
