![]() ![]() Saturday 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm | Marilyn Miller Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter | Taste Budd's Cafe 40 West MArket Street Red Hook, NY See Map |
Hudson, NY and the surrounding towns have been home for singer/songwriter Marilyn Miller for most of her life, and her music often deals with the contradictions inherent in an area which is at once both very rural and very urban. You will find her most often encouraging others at an open mic, having an open jam at her country home, supporting a farmers' market or other cause, or busking on the streets of her hometown. It is no surprise that, given the diversity of her sounds, her favorite musician is Neil Young, a man well known to follow his muse wherever it takes him. His influence is very evident in the songs Marilyn writes, and in how she approaches the art of music. As a performer, Marilyn is most often compared to Patti Smith, no doubt due to the high energy she displays in presenting her work, and her dedication to always seeking the truth in the music. Her goal is to provide the listener with sounds that make a person move, think and feel, and she does deliver.

![]() ![]() Sunday 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm | Wandering Willow Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter | Taste Budd's Cafe 40 West MArket Street Red Hook, NY See Map |
"Art, poetry and music inspire hope. Hope then inspires the creation of art in turn. Life and nature, and humanity with it, are intertwined with this notion. For art, poetry & music are the products of love. And it's all around us. We share the music we create only to bring people closer to us and closer to each other. We're all in this together so we may as well open an ear and hear where we're all coming from. I'm always open to hear a new story." - Daniel "Whether Im playing for people or with people, music is about sharing. Especially, though, when I'm experimenting with a song, or even developing one, with other people. Its very fulfilling to experientially share music with others that way. The connection with people that I've found in music I haven't found with anything else. For me, playing music with other people is an elemental form of being, but, its also an expansive form of being." Elisabeth

One of the most unique and compelling interpretations of the late music icon's compositions comes from 7-piece ensemble The Nu-Utopians (formerly The John Lennon Song Project). The thoughtfully re-imagined tribute celebrates the genius and artistry of the icon's music. Created and led by Rex Fowler of Aztec Two-Step and Tom Dean of Devonsquare, the band's live show featuring entertaining storytelling, and like their CD Imagined, superb lead singing and 3-part harmonies, plus a host of accomplished musicians on acoustic, electric and bass guitars, cello, violin, mandolin, accordion, chromatic harmonica and light percussion. Concert goers will be treated to exquisite renditions of Lennon's legendary Beatles songs, as well as from his solo years, often weaving melody, lyric and song together in a series of singles and mini-medleys. These tunes are given surprisingly fresh treatments that often inspire a whole new appreciation for Lennon’s original lyrics. Tickets:

![]() Seeing these three perform is like spending an evening with them in their living room - inviting, entertaining, and a little goofy. Their songs can range in feel from folk-pop to country-tinged to singer-songwriter-with-groove. What remains constant are well-crafted songs with deceptively simple lyrics about people you feel you might know, people who view themselves and the world with both honesty and compassion. Oliver, a fellow Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Finalist, is an active contributor to the acoustic and Americana music scene in the Baltimore-DC area, and the host of WLOY radio’s “The Mobtown Couch” since 2005. Admission $7.

MOPCO brings its unique brand of improv to Proctors -- Friday nights at 8:00pm. Created by Kat Koppett in association with Freestyle Repertory Theatre in New York, Spontaneous Broadway is a virtouso evening of musical improv. The audience submits titles of "songs that have never been written". In a fictional "backer's audition", these titles inspire improvised songs in act one. In act two, the audience's favorite song serves as the basis of an entire (45 minute) Broadway musical, complete with costumes and set. The format received a rave review from The New York Times when it premiered in New York in 1995. You ain’t seen nuttin’ like it, folks!
