 Cheryl grew up in the rural hills of Jamaica and is rooted in Christian inspirational music, jazz and classic R&B. She co-founded and was musical director for New Creation, a gospel group who toured internationally, opened for the Hawkins Family at an International Gospel Festival, did a private command performance for Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley, was nominated for a JAMI Award (the Jamaican equivalent of the Grammy), and received a prestigious Honeycomb Award for ground-breaking contributions to the development of Jamaican gospel music. Cheryl now takes pleasure in doing cabaret performances of Jazz, R&B classics as well.
Art Hightower, founder of A2D, is deeply called by the drums, and has performed with Chuck Mangione, Doc Severinsen, Jeff Tyzick, The Dixie Cups, Pee Wee Ellis, Barbra Mason, Loretta Holloway, Buster Cooper, Dennis Wilson, Ray Blue, David Amram and was the drummer for the national tour of "Ain't Misbehavin'" (2002-3).

Kofi and Sankofa Drum and Dance Ensemble, led by internationally renown master drummer Kofi Donko, performs five dances from West Africa: Kpalogo (Ga Tribe) and Gahu (Ada Tribe), both harvest dances; Fanga, a greetings dance (from Liberia); Agadza, a migration dance (Ewe tribe); and Damba, a wedding dance (Dagomba tribe).
Audience participation is encouraged at the end of the performance.

 Fred Scribner, aka Midnight Slim, is a former member of The Levon Helm and is on Helm's "The Midnight Ramble Vol. 1". Scribner was also the driving force behind Little Sammy Davis and Midnight Slim, the House Band for Imus in the Morning Show, for almost 20 years.

Pianist Vinnie Martucci has had an exciting and diverse career as a performer, composer, arranger, producer, and educator. He's toured extensively on the international stage as co-leader of the Jazz Fusion Quartet “The Dolphins” with Dan Brubeck, as music director, arranger, accompanist for Laurel Masse (Manhattan Transfer), & arranger and performer for Blues artist Rory Block. Joining Vinnie will be two other highly regarded veterans of the Hudson Valley Jazz scene, bassist Rich Syracuse & drummer Jeff Siegel

The event will take place on Sept. 25, 2011 from 1 to 9PM at Warwick Valley High School, with the goal to raise $25,000 to provide immediate relief to local farmers in need.

 Kairos: A Consort of Singers, under the direction of Edward Lundergan, presents Bach’s Cantata No. 17, "Wer Dank opfert, der preiset mich". The concert will also feature the “Kyrie” from William Byrd’s Mass for 4 Voices, performed by Kairos, and Handel’s Sonata for Oboe Op. 1, No. 7, performed by oboist Joël Evans. The cantata, mass movement and instrumental work are accompanied by chamber orchestra and will be performed as part of a choral evensong service.
The performance is part of an ongoing Bach Cantata series presented by Kairos at Holy Cross Monastery and is the fourth in the 2011 Bach Cantata Series, now in its sixth year. There is a suggested donation of $10 to support the Bach Cantata Series, which is funded entirely by member contributions and free-will donations at the cantata performances.

Sure to be the Blues event of the year in the Hudson Valley, one of the Hudson Valley's best kept secrets, Mississippi-born blues musician Little Melvin, will be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame's Legendary Class. A contemporary and friend of B.B. King, this is a well-deserved and long-awaited honor. Following his induction at 4pm, Little Melvin and his Orchestra will perform a short set. Melvin will be available for photographs and autographs afterwards. Along with Melvin, many other local blues artists will also be recognized and perform: Dave Keyes, Rhett Tyler, Michael Packer, Saron Crenshaw, Jerry Dugger, Junior Mack, Barry Harrison, Pete Hop, Bob Fusco, and Papa John Mole.
