Nenad Bach has a dream, nurtured through wartime and expatriation, and informed by his quest for universal justice and deep longing for world peace. The result: All I Want Is Freedom, a passionate cri de coeur and the latest CD in the artist’s prolific body of work. It’s a potent shot of rock infused with heart and soul, packed with provocative lyrics calling back the ethos of the sixties, unafraid to question and determined to seek answers.

Solidly backed by the four like-minded musicians-Joe DeSanctis, Richard Lindsey, Michael O’Keefe, and Al Orlo-the Nenad Bach Band’s recent album was brilliantly recorded and mixed by five-time Grammy Award winner John Holbrook Two of Nenad’s albums reached number one in Europe, and to date he has sold over one million records. He has performed all over the world with a wide range of artists, including Pavarotti; Bono and The Edge; Brian Eno, Indigo Girls; Richie Havens; Garth Hudson and Rick Danko; Vince Welnick; and many more.

BATTLEFIELD BAND from Scotland

Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
Under their banner, "Forward With Scotland's Past," Battlefield Band have been performing on the international scene for four decades, inspired by their rich heritage of Celtic music and fired by the strength of the modern Scottish cultural scene. The band, who pioneered the integration of bagpipes with fiddle, keyboards, guitar and voice, mix the old songs and tunes with new self-penned material, playing them on a unique fusion of ancient and modern instruments: bagpipes, fiddles, guitars, cittern, bass, keyboards, whistles, and bouzouki. This is the band that others have been measuring themselves against for decades, with some of the best talent in Scottish music. In 2003, the Battlefield Band was honored with the very first Best Live Act award at the inaugural Scots Trad Music Awards. Over the years new members have brought with them new ideas, new music, new instruments, attitudes and influences, leading to continued creativity, freshness and enthusiasm.

Keegan Ales

Keegan Ales is glad to welcome “The Pinstripes” who are trekking here all the way from Cincinnati, Ohio. The Pinstripes don’t merely play Ska and Reggae — they inhabit the sound like it’s a ramshackle house that’s keeping them alive. Tight but never slick, fun but never goofy, intense but never serious, The Pinstripes (a hard-touring band with a hard-won following) combine Ska, Reggae, Dub and Soul to create something that’s genuinely lacking in a great deal of contemporary music: joy.

Dermont Mahoneys

Kingston , NY   See Map
The Reddan Brothers are a hard hitting blues/rock trio with the miles to back it. The Reddan Brothers grew up backing legends of blues and rock such as Bill Perry, Popa Chubby and Jimmy Vivino. With their newly released CD “Skeleton Key Sessions” those road miles seem to be put to good use. The group has been seen on such high profile gigs as Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble, Winchester Blues House Festival and the Blues on the Bridge Festival. The youthful energy of the band mixed with seasoned playing makes them a must see trio.
