Sinatra: The View From A Broad

Betsyann Faiella - described as a "swinging jazz seductress" by Daily Variety - explores the music and life of Frank Sinatra, a complicated and enigmatic figure whose cocky, devil-may-care swing inspired a generation of post war playboys. Faiella brings her very feminine perspective to Sinatra hits and hidden gems in a tribute she has performed in many of the world's most famous nightclubs including The Blue Note and Birdland in New York City, and Ronnie Scott's in London.

"A terrific singer, whose hip phrasing and thrilling time patterns put her in a class by herself." ..Rex Reed

Middletown, NY   See Map
MICHAEL POWERS FREQUENCY Heralding from Bayonne New Jersey, Michael Powers now defines the New York City blues scene. Since settling in NYC in the 1970's, Power's originals and "re-shaped classics" have been dictating the raw essence of real blues in the city for years. This 5 time Blues Music award nominee "is no "rocker" masquerading as a "bluesman", no "Hendrix wanna be" - he is simply true to his ... heart and the rockin' soul in his music." Michael Powers is a rare find in the music world; "an impressive musical range and versatility - a musician for all seasons." (Blues Matters) COVER CHARGE $ 10.00 MORE INFO CALL(845)692-3227

Tara Elliot and The Red Velvets, The Blind Ambassadors
Fusion of Punk and Blues
Keegan Ales
20 St. James St.
Kingston, NY   See Map
Tara Elliott and the Red Velvets are a red-hot power trio that fuses proto-punk and blues driven by incredibly powerful vocals and lead bass solos. Their passionate live performance renders audiences mesmerized. Frontwoman, punk rocker Tara Elliott performs in theatrical demeanor: rocking hard head-to-toe in custom-made, self-designed red velvet as her duly trademark. Their sound reflects influences: Muddy Waters, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner & the Ikettes, The White Stripes and Iggy Pop & the Stooges.

The Blind Ambassadors hail from our very own Kingston New York and are three men who are committed to diverting rock and roll from its current trajectory of self destruction. Those three members are Justin Zipperle on the drums, Jesse Cunningham on the guitar, and Dave Pannullo on the bass.

Rock Alllll Night Long
with Buried in Blue
Rock (classic)
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Buried in Blue is one of the BEST party bands in the county... lead guitarist Tom Dowd is known for his lightning-fast guitar work, clear, soaring vocals and fresh, compelling arrangements that span Rock, Blues, R&B and Pop classics. The band features the inimitable Tom Dowd on vocals and lead guitar (and this man can PLAY guitar!), Jaynie "Blonde Thunder" D'Agostino on percussion, Pete McGregor on drums, Barry "Buzzy" Garriola on bass and Kevin McSweeney rhythm guitar, who provides the unshakable and perfectly-chosen solos that make each song a new classic. As one reviewer writes: "If you want to catch an incredible live performance of Classic Rock, Pop and Blues with pitch-perfect vocals, powerful drums, and some hot Hendrix-style guitar, see these guys soon....Buried in Blue is buried in talent."

DInner reservations highly recommended as this band packs the house (and the dance floor!)

Peekskill, NY   See Map
The first time they performed here, we were blown away. We play their CD on our house stereo, and people constantly ask us who they are. We must be falling in love with WeMustBe.

Singer Christine Dominguez co-authored this year's Grammy nominated hit song "Airplanes" by B.o.B and is collaborating with artists and producers in the Hip Hop/Urban community where her distinct and soulful vocals are in demand. T. Xiques started gigging as a drummer at age 15 and tours across the US, Canada, Europe and Malaysia with artists like Savoy Brown, Dr.Know and Daryl Jenifer (Bad Brains), Colin Hay and Brother, among others.

They call their sound "Organic Pop", a sound they created with their soulful vocals and an assortment of instruments, from piano and acoustic guitar to 5-string bass and cajon drum. We're really looking forward to the return of WeMustBe.

This original "band without instruments" has been skewering the classics, breaking all the rules and clear-cutting their own unique path in the world of vocal music for over 25 years, playing everywhere from Lincoln Center to Berlin's Passionkirche. To quote one reviewer, "...the Bobs still shine, breaking new ground each time they tunnel out of the sanitorium. The twin keys to the group's creative safe deposit box are unflagging dedication to vocal excellence and utter disregard for everything else."

Bob wishes to honor what they did, by creating his own music on their fine instruments, and to encourage those who continue the family tradition of a devotion to Craftsmanship supporting Musical Excellence.

As a professional musician who lives in the Hudson Valley and has performed locally, regionally, and nationally, Bob Cage has been honored to share the stage with many well-known musicians over the years, including Larry Coryell and Les Paul, and he has appeared twice on Bob Miles' "Miles of Music" TV show. Join saxman and vocalist JP Patrick and his band the first and last Thursday of each month as they rehearse, work, and play for each other, and for you. "Sessions" is an opportunity for audience members to be co-collaborators on a new song, or to simply get an up-close-and personal view of what it takes to put together a live performance. See how various guest musicians can actually change the entire feel of a song. Band members will be open to hearing your input... you'll be learning and entertained all at the same time.

Budding musicians of all ages will be inspired as they watch the creative process unfold. Even if you don't perform, you'll enjoy this intimate look at how musicians do what they love to do best: "play". Join us for a night of low-volume, high quality music the whole family will enjoy.

Rhett Tyler ~guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and producer~ is best known for his explosive style of scorching modern blues guitar and high-octane, house-rocking live performances. His music is certainly rooted in the tradition of blues, but Rhett also incorporates jazz, rock and gospel influences to create an innovative modern musical blend with his signature guitar style. Rhett has shared billing with many distinguished blues artists, including Johnny Winter, Delbert McClinton and John Hammond. John Swenson of Rolling Stone calls Tyler "a powerful front man, in the tradition of Johnny Winter [and] Jimi Hendrix. Rhett Tyler is the certain face of future blues."

PERFORMING AT BRIAN'S BACKYARD BBQ, GREAT GUITARIST AND BLUESMAN "LARRY McCRAY"
Blues
Brian's Backyard BBQ
1665 RTE 211 EAST
Middletown, NY   See Map
Larry McCray is one of a handful of talented young blues performers leading the genre across boundaries and into the new century. McCray’s savage blues-rock guitar and warm, soulful vocals have drawn attention worldwide. McCray’s hard work paid off when he became the first artist signed by Virgin Records’ blues division – Pointblank Records. In 1990 1993 saw the release of McCray’s second album, Delta Hurricane, which was recorded in Memphis with the notoriously funky Uptown Horns. The guitarist’s gut wrenching rendition of Warren Haynes’ power ballad, “Soul Shine,” opened many ears to McCray’s talent and diversity. In 1998, Born To Play The Blues moved the story of McCray’s broadly appealing music forward another giant step. Bold, brawny, often dazzling guitar lines are matched with confident, soul-drenched vocals. Understated funk rhythms and crunchy rock riffs
