 The MurchKat Trio is a jazz ensemble, playing standards, originals, and their own interpretations of classic artists, such as Pat Metheny, Dave Brubeck, and Miles Davis.
Guitarist Mark Barden has studied with Joe Beck, Reggie Wooten, Kevin Walsh and Jim Graves. Mark has extensive touring experience with various national acts (The Cox Family, Michael Martin Murphey, Doug Stone, Vern Gosdin, Vicki Bird, Randy Stafford) and currently enjoys a busy schedule of live and studio work.
Bassist John Murchison studied music at Vassar College, and has been performing Jazz and Pop in the tri-state area for several years. John currently resides in Brooklyn and is immersed in the NYC music scene.
Eric Puente is a session drummer/percussionist, native to the NY music scene for the past 25 years. He has studied with Joe Morello, Mike Clark, Tony Jefferson, and Joe Cusatis. He performs, tours and records on a regular basis with jazz, rock/pop, roots/Americana, and folk artists.

Once a month Music for Humanity invites 3 local/regional performers to share their music. Each gets a 30 minute set and does originals and/or covers. We've had many singer-songwriters but we've also had some classical performers. This is a free event and there are only about 40 seats (they are usually all taken) so we recommend arriving before 7PM to get a seat.
We've had some incredible evenings of music. Although its in a coffee house the people are coming to listen and the performers really appreciate that attention.
The performers have all donated their time and we put out the hat for "tips" which goes into the Music for Humanity scholarship fund. MFH is a 501c-3 charity and our mission is to use the spiritual and emotional power of music to positively impact our world. All donations are fully tax-deductible. In a review of OP's first release, Allmusic.com dubbed Fahl the "lovechild" of Stevie Nicks & Peter Steel, "...a completely unique artist, sounding like no other vocalist of her era." Following her days with October Project, Fahl embarked upon a solo career with several notable collaborators, including Broadway composer Stephen Schwartz ("Wicked") and Academy Award nominated lyricist, Ramsey McLean ("Sleepless in Seattle"). There are 15 to 20 vendors at every market, selling organic and conventional vegetables, fruits, berries, pastured meats, eggs, cheeses, Italian breads, crab cakes, baked treats and muffins, cakes, pies, flowers and hanging plants, seedlings, wine, mead, fancy pretzels, honey, granola, Ghanaian market baskets, affordable cooking tools, and much more.
There are also ready-to-eat food vendors, including great food from the Crossroads Deli poolside store. Every market has live, acoustic music. |

Lydia has held her own while sharing the stage with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Little Feat and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. She has released five blues-meets-indie-rock albums and is currently on an East Coast tour supporting her latest release, titled Turn It Up.  Marc Von Em is a soulfully energized singer/songwriter who's sound is rooted in Blues, Folk, Rock and Reggae. Driven by his fluid acoustic guitar playing and rich powerful voice, Marc's talents will blow you away from the very first note. Marc tells us that tonight, he's going to "bust out" some songs rarely played in public.
Marc has toured nationally and internationally with the Rob Thomas Band. Rob remarked, "I asked him to open up a 10,000 seat gig. Just him, his guitar, and his songs. He killed it!" Marc has also shared bills with such artists as Lucy Kaplansky, Martin Sexton, Richie Havens, Glenn Tillbrook and others. One reviewer writes: "... I can genuinely say if you haven't heard or seen him live, you are only cheating yourself." Marc has three CD's that are each amazing. His second studio recording, entitled "Free", has sold more than 6,000 copies. Marc has been working on his next solo CD, expected to be released soon.

 Sam Lardner's music represents everything a cross-cultural artistic experience should be: people from different traditions meeting in a place where everyone shines brighter. A long-time resident of Spain, Sam has performed with his flamenco fusion band throughout Europe and the United States, where he is a regular at folk and world music festivals. Sam's latest trips to the USA have included headline performances at the famous Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas as well as International Spotlight Artist performances at the Falcon Ridge Festival in upstate New York. :|: Rob Morsberger is a singer-songwriter and classically-trained composer. In addition to his own records, his sideman credits include Jules Shear, Loudon Wainwright III, The Roches, Crash Test Dummies and Marshall Crenshaw. He is composer for the award-winning PBS series NOVAscienceNOW. Other scoring/arranging credits include Masterpiece Theater, Boardwalk Empire, NOVA and Frontline.

We want to invite you the Colony Cafe’ Friday night for a Birthday Bash to celebrate Charles' birthday. His real birthday is October 12th, Tuesday but Friday is as good night to party. The Princes of Serendip will be opening up the night with a set of their eclectic music. "Absolute delight of ageless entertainment...a masterfully entertaining talent. Bravo." says Gary Alexander of Woodstock Times. The Junkyard Angels will do a set with special guest drummer Harvey Sorgen filling in for Dennis Cotton that night. The multi talented Brian Hollander will also be playing with Charles and The Junkyard Angels who consist of Chris Zaloom on guitar, George Quinn on bass and T.G. Vanini on fiddle. Come celebrate the evening and there is no cover charge. There will be Birthday Cake served and a few surprises in store for all.
