In 2006, she was recognized with 3 Austin Music Awards and 4 Folk Alliance Music Awards.  Ted Berkowitz's The Musician and The Muse is a series of intensely personal works that capture and protect the soulful intensity of well known and well loved local musicians as they perform. The exhibit, which includes renderings of Pete Seeger, Fred Gillen Jr., the Ya Yas, Andy Polay, Rahn Burton, Lester Harper, Peter Croton and many more, will show at the BRC Gallery in Peekskill from Sunday, October 17 through December 5, 2010. A reception for the artist will be held on Saturday, October 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. Mark Tonelli, an award winning guitarist, will perform at the opening.
From the coffee houses to the jazz clubs of the lower Hudson Valley, Berkowitz captures the energy, sound and movement of the performers with powerful gestural marks. His masterful manipulation and combination of materials are both complex and straightforward, illustrating the joy and concentration of the musicians caught in their creative moment. Berkowitz is one of the best practitioners of this genre. |

The Wiggins Sisters’ second CD “Minnesota” won the best Americana album by JPF Music Awards International 2009.
Yankee Rose has been playing together since 1992. Terry Seeley, Steve Massardo and Terri Massardo intertwine their vocals on lots of popular rock, folk and blues faves as well as many originals. They continue to perform with other groups, but it's nice to have the Rose back together in full bloom!

 Kairos: A Consort of Singers, under the direction of Dr. Edward Lundergan, will present the fifth cantata in our 2010 Bach Cantata Series with a performance of Bach's Cantata 192, “Nun danket alle Gott" (Now thank we all our God), with chamber orchestra. Kairos will also perform Bach's beautiful motet "Jesu, meine Freude". The cantata and motet will be performed as part of a choral evensong service and all are welcome. Known for fun, informal shows during which they talk and joke around with each other and the audience, their spirit is contagious. Catherine Miles' rich, expressive voice is intimate & honest, Jay Mafale's percussive guitar and Paul Silverman's melodic piano lines complement each other, and all three blend in a way that reflects their friendship as well as years of playing together. The songs on Paper Boats are told through plainspoken lyrics with catchy choruses that stick with you. Since this is a party, The YaYas will be joined onstage by friends Steve Kirkman, Fred Gillen Jr. and Eric Puente -- incredible musicians who can be heard throughout the new album.
