 In honor of Women's History Month, Freedman will present several short videos and one short performance piece. Each of the selected works addresses one or more issues facing contemporary women: the frustrations and rewards of motherhood; the pressures of domestic and professional responsibilities; the challenges of getting older in a society that glorifies youth. Despite the serious nature of these topics, the program will be lighthearted -- because Freedman manages to inject her quirky sense of humor into all of her creations.
Freedman is an artist who has worked with a variety of media, from painting, drawing and sculpture to photography, video, and performance art. Her artworks have been included in more than 200 exhibitions around the country. She lives in Croton-on-Hudson and maintains a studio in Peekskill.

 A former New York City cab driver, bartender, bouncer, and actor, David Ray's songs have been described as "cinematic." They've been sung by artists as varied as Grammy-winner Shawn Colvin and Dove Award winner Kathy Troccoli, and recorded by producers from Rick Wake to Arif Mardin. Along with Lyle Lovett, Richie Havens, Julie Gold (From a Distance) and others, his early Fast Folk recordings are now part of the permanent collection at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.

Jerry's an accomplished singer, songwriter and bass player, influenced by the Blues and Country Music. His entree into the NYC Blues scene was by way of the now infamous Dan Lynch Blues Bar, running the Saturday afternoon jam session there. This little bar became the hub of the Blues scene in NYC. Jerry calls his time there "an education that could not be replicated." His band is comprised of a lighting-fast guitarist, killer drummer and a keyboard player who also wails on the sax.

Joshua Morris began performing classical music at an early age with his father, mother, brother and sister, he began performing around the south, and the Morris Family became well known for their beautiful Irish harmonies. Later, Joshua expanded his musical repertoire to include rock and roll, drawing on his classical and Irish background, and with his band Sinclair, released the album Stories of this Land in 2002. Joshua recorded and produced the 2004 Morris Family release Farewell to Summer.
After moving to Beacon, NY in 2008, Joshua has continued his musical ambitions, melding his voice, violin and guitar into a solo act adept in both faithful traditional tunes as well as improvised original work.
Joshua currently designs recording studios and other acoustically-sensitive spaces for Walters-Storyk Design Group in Highland, NY.

| After working with producers and musicians from New York to New Zealand, Laura MacLean, a New York indie singer-songwriter, has released her debut CD. "If The Shoe Fits Wear It Out" is exactly what she did during the process of this album. With a strong female demographic, MacLean's songs speak to women, around the world, ages 14 and up. It is not uncommon that a fan comes backstage to say that her songs could be right from their own diary. "I've lived a little- I've traveled the world and met a lot of people", MacLean states. "My life experiences and the lessons I've learned from them are all what I write about. I guess it speaks to a lot of people and I'm glad my listeners relate to my songs. Life is not all warm and rosy. It's about choices, learning, love and pain- and all these things a result of one-another, funny enough." MacLean hopes that her music can be a positive influence to her listeners.

 Frank Lacy takes everything from Ragtime and Swing to Afro Beat and Hip-Hop to create his own style of jazz. He has toured with greats like Dizzy Gillespie, Abdullah Ibrahim, Henry Threadgill, Julius Hemphill, Oliver Lake, The Eurythmics, Carla Bley and Don Pullen and currently tours with Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy and the big bands of McCoy Tyner and David Murray.
Johnathan Blake has worked with the Oliver Lake Big Band, Roy Hargrove, and David Sanchez and is currently a member of Tom Harrell Quintet, Russell Malone Quartet, and Kenny Barron Trio. He also performs with Donny McCaslin, Jaleel Shaw, Avishai Cohen, and Omer Avital among others.
Kevin Ray has performed with John Stubblefield, Oliver Lake, Greg Osby, Andrew Hill, Pheeroan Aklaff and others. He performs regularly as a member of Elliott Sharp's Limbic Trio, along with Don McKenzie.

As a bassist for Grammy Award winner, Van Hunt, Alana has toured the world and appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and more. Alana has also performed on stage with George Clinton and many other notable names and talents.
Though she is known as the Duchess Of Funk, Alana's orriginal music is best described as a hybrid of genres including funk, rock, jazz, dub, hip hop and more.

Hosted by Skin Against Metal, a percussion ensemble lead by pianist/composer Maurice Minichino and percussionist/composer Nanette Garcia who bring traditional folkloric and Afro-Cuban rhythms into a contemporary context. Maurice and Nanette pay tribute to, as they continue the innovative work of, master conquero Frankie Malabe.
