Chester, NY   See Map
Josh Tangney- As a singer/songwriter from Chester, New York, Josh Tangney has been writing music and poetry for the past 10 years. Through his words he creates songs of passion, experience, life, love and loss. Tangney's influences span from acoustic and country music to R&B and hip-hop and everything else in between.

Stuedabakerbrown- The Monroe-based rock band Stuedabakerbrown draws influences primarily from legends such as The Beatles, U2, and Tom Petty, but the essence of the mid-90's alternative rock from their youth is prevalent in their songwriting. Boasting irresistible original songs and an unforgettable live performance, the group has developed a large and impressively loyal fanbase, most recently selling out New York City's famous Bitter End rock club this past December. Their new album, entitled Closer, features their first radio single, "A Time For Fire," and is availabe at all major online retailers now.

Tonight, we'll be featuring -- O.K., let's face it, even though it's a coffeehouse, we're NOT playing anything where you NEED a cup of coffee just to stay awake. We're claiming some floor space, rolling in the amps and drum kit, plugging in, and making sure there's a whole lotta shakin' goin' on -- so don't say we didn't give you advance notice, Isadore. Furthermore . . . you will have a good time.

An all-ages show, nice for those who prefer a non-alcoholic environment. NO COVER

And of course, we raise our collective coffee cups to toast and give a special thank-you to the New Paltz Muddy Cup for their continuing support of our music.

3 is a band apart: Dark yet uplifting, spiritual without any connection to religion - theirs is a sound that transcends the genre conformity of modern pop culture. Rapid-fire acoustic guitar infused with dynamic percussion, animated drumming and thunderous bass culminate in a listening experience that is at once accessible and unique. Polyrhythms pulse within a symphony of driving metal guitars and melodic vocal acrobatics. 3 offers musicality without pretension.

Metropolitan Hot Club - CD Release Event
Jazz
Rosendale Cafe
434 Main St
Rosendale, NY   See Map
It's a CD release party! Metropolitan Hot Club's second CD, "Metropolitan Hot Club Live," will be ready for release at this show. Their last appearance at the Rosendale Cafe was completely sold out, and was met with a thunderous reception from all who attended. This CD captures the excitement of a live show, so you can take the experience home with you! Two CDs will be raffled off during the performance. Come early if you want to get a good seat!

Steeped in the gypsy jazz tradition, Metropolitan Hot Club celebrates the music made popular by legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt, and jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli.

The ensemble is Michael Boyle on guitar, Michael Snow on violin, Aaron Lieberman on guitar, and Martin Keith on bass.

"Metropolitan Hot Club is one of the best of the Django-inspired groups and certainly the most fun. Their playing exemplifies the spirit and swing of Jazz's golden age." --Jack Kleinsinger, Highlights in Jazz

Folk/Traditional, Rock (classic), and Acoustic. Funk
Common Ground Coffeehouse
25 Old Jackson Avenue
Hastings-on-Hudson, NY   See Map
Join us for this very special evening as Maura Kennedy hosts an evening of songwriters in the round, featuring Karen Savoca with Pete Heitzman, and Sam McTavey. Maura is one half of The Kennedys, otherwise known as the Energizer bunnies of the folk/rock world. Their touring schedule makes Bob Dylan seem lazy – they’ve played about 1500 gigs in the last 12 years, everywhere from house concerts to major festivals. After leading their own band for years, Karen Savoca and Pete Heitzman maintain the power of a full band, whether it’s pulsing funk or haunting ballad. Electrifying, unique, and always uplifting, these improvisational performers possess "the fearlessness of a high wire act working without a net." Giving a go at the Wainwright family business, Sam McTavey (Son of Sloan, nephew of Loudon, cousin of Rufus, Martha & Lucy) is becoming an addition to the already talented gene pool. Sam brings a dark & rich, gravelly and above all else honest & true approach to his music.
