I'm really looking forward to this gig. I love Beaucoup Blue who I heard at a convention a few years ago. They're a father and son duo who do a killin' blues sort of thing. Excellent! And also, the wonderful Rex Fowler who is half of the duo Aztec Two Step. Rex and I have met, but I've never done a show with him, so that should be fun. And finally, playing at Unison, one of my favorite local spots. This show will include not only performances by us, but a Q&A for interested audience members. So, come on. It's going to be fun, and it's only $10. ($8 for members) For more info, please visit Unison's web site or call 845 255 1559

with Venture Lift
Rock (progressive). experimental
Woodstock Mothership
6 Hillcrest Avenue
Woodstock, NY   See Map
The brainchild of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Stanton Warren, Venture Lift uncannily conjures the sound of Barrett-era Pink Floyd, filters it through the Eighties acid-wash of Loop or the Spacemen 3 circa The Perfect Prescription, adds a tab or two of Warren’s own lysergic vision, and flies it straight into the heart of the sun. But even though the leader wears his admirable influences proudly on his paisley sleeve (check the cover of Barrett’s post-Floyd Golden Hair), Venture Lift’s modern experimental sensibility keeps the freak flag flying free and clear of any water-treading, revival-act pitfalls.
