Born in Boston, Mass., and raised in North Carolina, Bill "Watermelon Slim" Homans has taken his blues all over the USA, Europe, and Southeast Asia. During a career spanning over 30 yrs, Watermelon Slim has played with the late Henry "Sunflower" Vestine of Canned Heat, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, the late John Lee Hooker, and in France with Champion Jack Dupree.
Three Johns and a Katie. No, this is not what you might think. Actually it happens to be the first names of an exciting new New York based band playing "Authentic American Music" for a new generation of country and rock fans. The band's name is taken from an old time amplifier company "Coppersonic". Warm harmonies, feel good melodies and first rate musicianship combined with great songwriting makes Coppersonic a must see (and hear) act. There is no cover for this performance, your geberosity is always appreciated.

Sundad, comprised of father son guitarist, John Eurell Sr. and John Jr., is making their name as one of a new class of acoustic bands whose compositions, live performances, and recordings are filled with beautiful rythems, harmonies, and chord changes.
Their first CD, Journey To Eternity, earned the trio, nominations for 2005 "Best New Artist" and "Best Acoustic Instrumental Album" at New Age Reporter (NAR) and their new release, The Journey Continues, soars to new musical heights. The Journey Continues hit the world radio charts at #3 in June 2008 and was #5 for July 2008. This will be a wonderful night of great music. There is no cover, your generosity is always appreciated. Dockside is located just 3.8 miles off the Bryant Pond Road exit of the Taconic Parkway.

Eight great musicians in an intimate setting. A true songwriters round in the geometrical sense. The audience sits around the musicians, never more than a few feet away. The musicians are among the area's best and the atmosphere is unique in the Northeast.
The 2008 Holiday Concert will include a variety of seasonal, sacred, Hanukkah, spiritual, and novelty selections, including familiar favorites such as “Silver Bells”, “Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel”, “O Holy Night”, “Christmas Time is Here”, “Grown Up Christmas List”, and “(Variations on) Jingle Bells”. A performance of “Away in a Manger” will be sung with guest artists, the Arlington District Select Chor-Us, directed by Mrs. Kathy Healy. The ADSC is the ‘public relations’ ensemble for the Arlington Central School District, and the group’s motto is “The joy of singing through community service”.
Always a good time...like being in your living room...but better! Project Mercury will brew up a setlist with "old friends," "new adventures" and a holiday song or two, dressed up in harmony, guitars, violin, cello. Starving Artist will brew up the good eats & beverages.

One of the country's best boogie-woogie bar bands in their heyday in the early to mid '70s, COMMANDER CODY specializes in a revved-up, full tilt assortment of Western swing, country and rockabilly music (Hot Rod Lincoln; Smoke, Smoke Smoke; etc). Today, the Commander continues to balance his arts among painting, music and mastery of the good-time, get-down-and-boogy school of live performance. Kairos will present its annual Lessons & Carols service at Holy Cross Monastery. The service will include seasonal sacred music from the Renaissance to the present and will be interspersed with readings from the Old and New Testaments. The service is free to the public and free-will offerings will be collected for a local Hudson Valley charitable organization. Come join Kairos for a truly spiritual and inspirational afternoon and start your Christmas season off right! A holiday reception will follow the service.

From her albums you can tell that Cheryl is a gifted songwriter with a beautiful voice. But, if your idea of a folk singer/songwriter concert is a bunch of people clapping politely after songs, and then sitting quietly while the performer says things like "This next song is about..." – well, you've never seen a Cheryl Wheeler concert before! Cheryl's concerts are more like what you would find at a comedy club than what you'd expect to find at a folk music concert. She is a natural story teller with a fantastic sense of humor that will have you rolling in the aisles. She might then just as naturally sing a song that leaves you wiping tears from your eyes. Her entire concert is like that emotional roller coaster we call life.
The L.A. Times called her "Will Rogers with a guitar"; reviewers across the country have praised her for her singular song writing talent, as well as her richly expressive voice and hilariously sharp wit.
Come down to the Firebird Lounge every Tuesday at 9pm for the hottest acoustic open mic around. Hosted by Karl Allweier, any and all types of acoustic music welcome. No cover, come down and play or just have a drink and take it all in. You never know what will happen...

Bacchus in the center of New Paltz tries a DJ experiment on December 3, 10 and 17 with DJ Wavy Davy and roster of rotating special guests. Expect bossa, breakbeat/rare groove, old school hip hop, reggae, acid jazz and more. Requests taken if the wi-fi is on. Cheap beer, pub food and a hip crowd of musicians and their fans. Dancing allowed and encouraged.
