"Phil Minissale is a young acoustic bluesman from Long Island, NY who's been rapidly ascending the ladder of recognition, and with good reason. Though his youthful voice hasn't acquired the gravitas we associate with traditional blues, these eleven songs are loaded with down-home honesty.
Minissale respects the traditions but writes his own songs. He tickles the guitar with assurance but without excess flash or flab, and happily offers the spotlight to his guest musicians, notably Ken Korb on harmonica and Red Molly's Abbie Gardner on dobro.
His approach to blues guitar traditions is reverent, but not so careful and precious that it sounds academic, as can sometimes happen with students of blues guitar. Finally, lest anyone claim that country blues is a game for the grizzled, let's not forget that Robert Johnson never made it past age 27. Securely recommended for fans of traditional blues and folk."

 This will be the third appearance for Red Molly here at Dockside. If there is any act in the Hudson Valley or for that matter in the entire USA that embodies the spirit of Americana music and the creativity of the "indie" music scene, it is Red Molly. In the past three years these young ladies of gained national recognition for their wonderful interpretations of some of Americas most treasured songs, as well as the creativity of their own tunes, their excellent musicianship of numerous string instruments and most of all their wonderful voices whether it be a solo, duet or threesome harmony. They are featured artist on most Indie and Public radio stations and have now performed in more than fourteen states. Its with great pleasure to have them grace our stage again. Tickets are $17. and our doors open at 5:30 for dinner. We hope you will join us.

After 15 years of operation, the Night Eagle Cafe, a venue that has presented and supported many of the same performers that we have featured here at the Towne Crier Cafe, has had to close its doors. Now, the music community is reaching out to owner/operator Ken Millett and is offering him their support in an effort to help lighten his debt load and give him an opportunity to regroup, with hope of reopening in the near future to offer many of these performers a stage in the Binghamton, NY area once again. We here at the Towne Crier are happy to contribute to this effort by offering our own stage for this fund raising concert.

Black 47 earned their chops playing the pub scene in Manhattan and self-producing their first indie record, Black 47, before converting The Cars' Ric Ocasek to the cause and gaining mainstream attention with their second album.
