Her compositions reflect influences ranging from the Blues, Continental and Klezmer to Latin Jazz and Country/Western. Billboard Magazine called her a “diva with a difference”, and San Francisco’s Bay Area Reporter described her as “wistful, sardonic, sentimental and wry.” Rachelle will be accompanied by Dave Hofstra on bass and tuba. In the past quarter-century, STEVE FORBERT has built a deeply personal body of work that's won him a reputation for clear-eyed insight and plainspoken eloquence. In the process, he's evolved from the wide-eyed young troubadour of his early classics Alive On Arrival and Jackrabbit Slim (which featured his hit single ROMEO'S TUNE) to the mature, bittersweet outlook of his more recent work, which surveys darker territory with hard-won empathy and deeply-ingrained rock 'n' roll soul.

Authentic...Timeless...Harmonious...Exhilarating... Any or all of these adjectives could describe the folk-rock sound created by SARAH LEE GUTHRIE & JOHNNY IRION. The musical richness and psychological depth of their initial collaboration, the fittingly titled Exploration, is irrefutable proof that the disarming granddaughter of Woody / daughter of Arlo and the prodigious South Carolinian quite naturally bring out the best in each other. The news is finally out: FRED GILLEN Jr & MATT TURK are twisting their talent together into something new and exciting. Harmonies abound, along with singing that's tough, sincere and full of heart & soul. Gillen & Turk present both their acoustic and electric repertoire in a fashion that bends toward the recognizable folk-rock genre without losing any respective idiosyncrasies. Fans of each of these artists know how much they mean what they sing. Together, Gillen & Turk mean that much more. More info at the Towne Crier Cafe | ||
