Saturday 8:30 pm | Black 47, Two Drink Mary | Bodles Opera House 39 Main Street Chester, NY See Map |
Black 47 espouses an unblinkingly political and thoroughly Irish form of rock 'n' roll, with songs covering topics from the Northern Ireland conflict to civil rights and urban unrest in contemporary New York. Black 47 earned their chops playing the pub scene in Manhattan and self-producing their first indie record, Black 47, before converting The Cars' Ric Ocasek to the cause and gaining mainstream attention with their second album.Kevin McCabe opens the show and latter will perform with Two Drink Mary - If you are looking for cover band that isn't necessarily playing all the hits, but instead, playing songs that they like, then this is the band to see. If you are looking for an original act that has passion and intensity, then this is the band to see. Combining covers and originals is what these guys do best. Covering such artists as Neil Young, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, The Samples, Tom Petty and many more, they give their own taste and feel to many of the songs you don't normally hear being played by local bands. Their originals are simple and follow in the rock'n'roll spirit of music. A four-piece act you don't want to miss. Web Sites: www.black47.com www.myspace.com/twodrinkmary Doors open at 6:30 pm Tickets: $25.00 Order online or call 845-469-4595 for reservations. Directions To Bodles | ||
