60s Cabaret explores the dizzying range of genres that constituted the popular music of the 20th century’s most changeful decade. In addition, the 60s was a time of tumultuous cultural upheaval: the civil-rights struggle, the Vietnam war, women’s changing status, the Cold War, the student movement, the counter-culture, the baby boom, drugs, and cosmic consciousness. We trace the history of the decade as it was reflected in song, and the equally tumultuous change in popular music—from Tin Pan Alley to Abbey Road. With singers Danielle Woerner and Jennie Litt; David Alpher on keyboards, Larry Balestra on drums, others TBA.

4 great artists. 4 rockin' sets. One awesome show!
with Quick, Bendy, Reddan, Brother Guitar Revue
Bodles Opera House
39 Main Street
Chester, NY   See Map
MIKE QUICK BAND - Currently residing in upstate New York, Mike Quick isn't new to the music scene. With a unique style and original flair the sets him apart from all other blues-rock crossover artists, Quick has no problem keeping his crowd on their toes. His fiery guitar is complimented by a combination of well-written songs and growling vocals that keep the listener wanting more. Although Quick's influence is drawn from a variety of musicians and artists ranging from Jimi Hendrix, to James Brown, he has had no problem creating a sound that is completely his own.
JOHN BENDY BAND - "A Modern Electric Trio" is what he likes to call it; John is an incredibly talented unique guitarist that plays all out balls to the wall. Bendy's influences range from Jimi Hendrix to Jaco Pastorius to Buddy Guy. He's toured with EC Scott and the Pastorius Brothers. Bendy's brother Mike Bendy plays bass in the trio who really is his brothers equal. Together they create a funk-rock-blues fusion experience.
DAN BROTHER BAND - Dan grew up listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bill Perry records from is dad's collection of blues CD's. His father Mike Brother, is a blues guitarist and singer, who was amazed how fast is son learned how to play the blues at such a young age. With his natural talent for the guitar he has been playing and singing his heart out in the local blues clubs for the past 6 years since he was 15. Dan Brother got to tour with Bill Perry last summer and was the house band for the Corner Stage in Middletown, NY for years.
JOHN REDDAN BAND - "Johnny" is the blues. With a big voice and raw guitar Reddan will grab a G chord and rip into a down home blues that gets the whole audience memorized. His influence is Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, Buddy Guy and Bill Perry. John Reddan has been touring with Bill Perry for the last 6 years. Since Bill Perry has passed away this July, Johnny has really been pouring his heart out in his music of which he learned so much from Bill. The John Reddan band has a big sound that's raw and real.

More Women in Music! is not the actual name for this show, but it does capture a little bit about what we're up to. Jill, Joy and I are new friends and are all songwriting and singing for a living. I LOVE their work, and apparently they feel the same about mine. Jill is a young writer with an incredible voice. She has a very hip, very contemporary sound and a great songwriter too. Joy is a woman about my age who's been working in the music business as not only a GREAT songwriter, but a very, very accomplished side person. Most notably, she has worked with Peter Gabriel and Laurie Anderson as a keyboardist and background singer. Her songs slay me and they will you too! We've decided to take our trio on the road, and this is our first show. The idea is to support one another musically (singing and/or playing on each other's tunes) and also professionally (introducing our audiences to the each other and letting them know who we are). I'm VERY excited about this combination. Join us!!

He is also a respected instructor at music programs across the country and maintains an active schedule teaching guitar out of his home in Brattleboro, Vermont.

Scott’s performances always include interesting stories and anecdotes about the music that leave his audiences slyly better educated and fully entertained. Why? Because truth is the highest form of entertainment.

Friday Night Flavor
with Vanilla Crosby
Rock (progressive), Jazz
The EAST SIDE BAR & GRILL
624 Route 52
Walden, NY   See Map
Vanilla Crosby is feminine and masculine represented and entwined. New versions of old stories, the guts of the piano strings vs. the glory of the guitar strings. A sweet rhyme with a sad riddle inside grooving and brooding, soulful and moody. Songs to wallpaper your heart with, eclectic writing on jazzy paper and a little bit of funk in the margin. Not completely original, for what is? And yet unique and justified. Eat, drink, feel the groove- live the life. 845 778 2039
