Mandolin Player Available ... Need a mandolin player to fill a spot in your next show or on your next recording? I bring 30+ years of mandolin playing experience to the table and am available for both performance and/or recording engagements.
A recent review singled out my playing and said ... "Wayne's playing combines emotion and intellect with technical precision. He is accomplished in many musical genres, and is able to swing gracefully from jazz to classical to bluegrass to jazz and Latin styles. Wayne puts his own imaginative and adventurous stamp on everything he plays, yet the respect he has for tradition is readily apparent in his playing."
I've been fortunate enough to have performed with some of the top acoustic string instrumentalists in the country including Tony Trischka, Matt Glaser, John Blake, Barry Mitterhoff, Mike Marshall, Hazel Dickens, Walt Michael & Co, Jay Ungar, Winfield guitar champion, Mark Cosgrove and a host of others. I've studied extensively with Barry Mitterhoff (Hot Tuna) and mandolin wizard, Mike Marshall (David Grisman Quintet), authored two (soon to be three) books on mandolin, appeared everywhere from Broadway (Steve Martin's "Bright Star") to local coffee houses to festival stages to Carnegie Hall (not bad for a mandolin player, eh? ;-) ) and ... believing that the musical 'path forward' is one that never ends, I constantly refine my technique and try to grow each day as a musician.
If you think I might be able to help with your next performance or recording project, I'd love to hear from you ... Please drop me a note and lets talk! Thanks for your interest!
