Bassist (electric &/or upright) w/vocals availableI've been a pro player for most of my life, supportive and comfortable in a lot of situations: Broadway pits, big band, rock, folk, country, studio, etc.
Electric (fretted and fretless), acoustic bass guitar and upright basses, but I also provide strong vocals (lead or harmony), and occasionally double on flute or keys. I'm well-schooled (theory, notation, etc.), and generally fit smoothly into any musical situation.
Please note: I really love "original music" gigs - so if you're a songwriter with great material and in need of bass, let's talk. I'm drawn to all good music, but particularly love styles akin to Mary Chapin Carpenter, James Taylor, etc.
Most importantly: My attitude. I know that I'm there to support the music. Perhaps the best musical trait any player can exhibit is discipline and a sense of the big picture. It's not about me - it's not about ANY individual - it's about the music as a whole and what works to make it great.
I'm mostly interested in pro situations. I'm not opposed to rehearsals, am happy to do the homework, and am willing to travel for satisfying gigs. I'm completely professional in every way and bring a good deal to the table.
