 Dubbed a "Renaissance Man" (Jazz Guitar Today) and acclaimed as "a compelling new voice in contemporary jazz" (All About Jazz), Daniel Garbin is an NYC-based jazz sitarist, guitarist, and composer. His unique, multi-instrumental sound is rooted in a musical journey that began with his folkloric heritage in Romania before evolving through jazz, fusion, Latin, and Indian classical music in the U.S.
Distinguished by fluid guitar improvisation and complex harmonic depth, Garbin integrates a custom-modified chromatic sitar into his jazz. His forthcoming project, The Sitar Dances, features legendary trumpeter Randy Brecker on two tracks, elevating Garbin's fresh, forward-thinking compositions.
The Daniel Garbin Group features a top-tier NYC rhythm and harmonic section with pianist Nicki Adams, drummer Joe Abba, and bassist Trifon Dimitrov. Following his critically acclaimed album Rising, Garbin continues to push the boundaries of contemporary jazz.

 With a career that stretches back more than six decades, The Spinners stand among the most successful and beloved vocal groups in R&B history. Known for their smooth harmonies, memorable melodies, and polished stage presence, the group created a catalog of songs that remains a cornerstone of classic soul music.
The Spinners first gained national attention during their time at Motown with the hit single “It’s a Shame,” produced and co-written by Stevie Wonder. The song reached #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a major R&B success, setting the stage for the group’s rise in the decade that followed.
Their greatest commercial success came during the 1970s when the lineup of Henry Fambrough, Billy Henderson, Pervis Jackson, Bobbie Smith, and Philippé Wynne teamed with producer Thom Bell.  The Symphony of Westchester opens its 2026–2027 season on Saturday, November 7 at 8 p.m. at the Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium at Iona University in New Rochelle.
Founder and Artistic Director Barry Charles Hoffman conducts an All Beethoven Program featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Alon Goldstein as soloist in Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37. The evening also includes Leonore Overture No. 3 and Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, “Pastorale.”
The concert marks the orchestra’s 29th season at Iona University. Tickets are $60 for general admission, $45 for seniors over 65 and $20 for students with valid ID.

 Ras Droppa is a passionate musician and consummate artist filled with energy and talent, poised to take on the world with his music.
Singing and playing the melodica in the streets of Jamaica as a child, Ras Droppa's early influences stemmed from his exposure to artists from his homeland, like Bob Marley, Aston "Family Man" Barrett, Garnet Silk, Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare and Roland Alphonso and the Skatalites.

 The Dirty Dozen Brass Band brings the unmistakable spirit of New Orleans to Paramount Hudson Valley on November 13. Celebrating more than 45 years since their founding in 1977, the GRAMMY Award-winning ensemble has transformed the traditional foundation of brass band music into a vibrant blend of bebop jazz, funk, and R&B/soul. The band describes its signature sound as a “musical gumbo,” a fitting phrase for a group known for genre-bending romps and high-octane performances.
Born from the Dirty Dozen Social Aid and Pleasure Club in New Orleans, the band carries forward two rich Crescent City traditions: social aid and pleasure clubs and the brass bands that helped shape the earliest sounds of jazz. In those traditions, music could move from somber reflection to joyful celebration, with brass bands leading processions before bursting into jubilant dance tunes that filled the streets.

The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past twelve years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.
