16 Hudson Valley-based original rock bands will perform over two days on the idyllic grounds of the Locust Grove Brewing Company in Milton, NY (10 minutes south of the Mid-Hudson Bridge). This family-friendly festival will be a celebration of the craftsmanship of the Hudson Valley: original rock music, cider, beer, wine, crafts and food trucks. Bring a blanket or camp chairs and spend the weekend enjoying local rock music right on the Hudson River. The festival is free, but donations are encouraged.more details and posters | ||

Chip Shelton is a multi-instrumentalist who performs CELEBRATORY, FEEL-GOOD JAZZ on flutes, reeds, vocals, percussion, and more.
Chip attended the Manhattan School of Music as a jazz flute major while studying classically with Julius Baker (aka "dean of American flutists"). With 11 critically acclaimed recordings, he tours internationally while based in the New York City area. Shelton has collaborated with top musicians like Ron Carter, Roy Ayers, Donny Hathaway, Peter Bernstein, Louis Hayes, Jimmy Heath, Frank Foster, Joe Lee Wilson, Jim Walker, Mala Waldron, Craig Holiday Haynes, Antonio Hart, Greg Murphy, Mark Gross, Jimmy Heath, Roy Meriwether, Ryo Kawasaki, Onaje Allan Gumbs, Ernie Wilkins and Ray Blue among others. He will be joined by Jasper Cain (Bass), Vaughn Stavropoulos (Keyboard, Sax), Fred Galloway (Drums, Percussion), Lenny Rothbart (Piano, Drums, Flute, Harmonica), Nijah Galloway (Vocals, Piano) and Special Guest Galore. $20 adm. Stan Ayeroff has had a long career in music as a guitarist, composer, arranger, musical director, and author.
Stan has worked with Rod Stewart, Page and Plant, Heart, and Roger Daltrey of The Who. He was the co-music director (with Danny Elfman, the noted film composer) of the original Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, has written 13 music books, including those on Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian, and Benny Goodman, and has several books on solo guitar playing, the latest for Mel Bay Publications. A "fingerpicking" guitarist, Stan is one of the masters. Donations to the musicians are always appreciated. | ||

The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past twelve years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.

ERNEST "CHICO" ALVAREZ PERAZA is a Cuban-American author, songwriter, vocalist and bandleader. He was also the host of a long running radio show, "New World Gallery", which aired from 1986 until 2017 on Saturday and Sunday afternoons over commercial-free WBAI radio (99.5 FM).
As a performer, Chico has appeared on stage at music festivals, such as Summer Stage, Celebrate Brooklyn, Lincoln Center Out Of Doors, Avery Fisher Hall, Damrosh Park, NJPAC, Queens Theatre In The Park and Flushing Town Hall, Harlem Jazz Festival, Battery Park Music Festival, African Street Festival and at The Skirball Center. CHICO ALVAREZ and MAFΝMBA's sound is unique and the core group is very versatile, with each musician able to interpret a broad range of genres, such as jazz, Latin jazz, salsa, charanga, & mambo. Nondarii is a jazz pianist and composer based in Hudson Valley NY. At eight years old, they started playing classical piano and immediately fell in love with the instrument. They would try to play any music from the radio, games, or movies alongside their pieces. In college they switched from classical to jazz where they'd learn to improvise and compose. Their major influences were and still are Hiromi, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock.
Over the years, Nondarii has performed with many bands switching between jazz, soul, R&B, and funk. The Nondarii Jazz Quartet is a group that dives head-first into experimentation, performing a mix of jazz standards and fusion originals that combine their influences. Tonight, Nondarii is joined by Theo Berliner on guitar, Daniel Palladino on drums, and Mark Venuto on Bass. $20 adm. Weather permitting the show will be held outside. | ||
