STICK MEN

General On Sale: 8/26 @ 10am

Doors 6pm / Music 8pm

Adv. Tickets: $25 - $35 / Day of Show Tickets: $30 - $40

Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto, the powerhouse bass and drums of the group King Crimson for a few decades, bring that tradition to all their playing. Levin plays the Chapman Stick, from which the band takes its name. Having bass and guitar strings, the Chapman Stick functions at times like two instruments.

Markus Reuter plays his self-designed touch style guitar – again covering much more ground than a guitar or a bass. And Mastelotto’s drumming encompasses not just the acoustic kit, but a unique electronic setup too, allowing him to add loops, samples, percussion, and more. Members of STICK MEN have recorded on albums that sold over 100 million records worldwide and all 4 individual members have played collectively in many different projects in past 5 decades in over 90 countries worldwide.

Peekskill, NY   See Map
After a nearly 20-year hiatus from music, Grammy-balloted artist, Bret Reilly has released "Bluebird".

With strong emotional inspiration based on fatherhood, sobriety, and the recent death of his mother, Reilly penned the soundtrack to the latest chapter of his life--an American story that could be filmed anywhere from
a dusty roadside bar, a Midwest farmhouse, or a beach in New England.

Along with Steve Murphy-guitar, Dave Cartategui-bass and Matt Norris-drums, Reilly's voice echos his lifelong musical heroes, including Johnny Cash, Tom Waits and David Bowie. Smart and witty lyrics lead you on a storytelling journey with a pure Americana sound and infectious pop sensibility.

$20 pp donation to the musicians.

Glen David Andrews, The Crown Prince of Treme and New Orleans' most charismatic live performer!

Glen David Andrews is the real deal. The music here is distinctively NOLA but the Big Easy is a sound, not a genre, so Glen David Andrews mixes things up with an eclectic variety of styles that include Funk, Gospel, Jazz, Soul, Rock and Christian Contemporary. For starters, let's talk about the voice; if you've never heard Glen David Andrews, his vocals are amazing. It's like Willie Dixon meets James Brown. - Delite Rancher

Glen David Andrews
https://www.facebook.com/glendavidmusic

Gospel, blues, funk, jazz, soul, marching & world music constantly rub against and off on each other in the artistic gumbo of New Orleans. The same can be said about the art and life of Glen David Andrews, one of the Big Easy’s native sons.

Andrews, the New Orleans based trombonist and vocalist, hails from one of city’s legendary musical families. He is the cousin of Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, so we know that Glen David Andrews can make great music.

Andrew's album Redemption (2014) is fun and funky while also managing to be a personal statement of Andrews’ struggle and the role that his personal faith in God and in himself played in allowing the trombonist and composer to overcome.

Andrews’ life and his music embrace both the sacred and profane – as does the city he calls home.

Paramount Hudson Valley Arts and the Paramount Theater in Peekskill present a FREE staged reading of SIGHTINGS, a new play about three teens swept up in a chilling, real-life Hudson Valley mystery.
On an eerily quiet night in a park along the Hudson River, three teenagers from very different worlds get the shock of their lives when they witness something they can’t explain. Now bound together by this unsettling mystery, the teens must decide what to do. A secret pact, a fierce struggle, and a startling betrayal could jeopardize each teen’s hopes for the future.
SIGHTINGS is a suspenseful coming-of-age play about seeing and being seen, set against a wave of social change and unexplained phenomena that swept through the Hudson Valley in the 1980s. Written by local playwright Mona Z. Smith and directed by Traci Burwitz Mariano, SIGHTINGS was commissioned by Paramount Hudson Valley Arts, which operates the Paramount Theater in Peekskill, NY.

Matt Wilson / Leader, Composer, Drums

Dedicated to Rep. John Lewis and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg;
The Good Trouble Suite comprises three movements: RBG | Walk with the Wind | Good Trouble

Written by Matt Wilson and arranged for big band by Jeff Lederer, it debuted in 2021 with the Kansas All State Jazz Ensemble.

Matt conducted the ensemble via Zoom and the performance was recorded by the performers recording their parts at home. It was quite an intense, but incredibly gratifying, experience.

The enthusiastic response of the performance and to the messages of the spoken word excerpts, was inspiring. The work has since been performed by the LIU Post and Wichita State University jazz ensembles.

The Matt Wilson Quartet is recognized as one of the most adventurous, engaging and fun-loving working jazz groups of the past 25 years, and have performed worldwide. Their latest release, Hug!, was chosen one of the top recordings by the NYC Jazz Record among other notable publications.

Matt Wilson
https://www.mattwilsonjazz.com/

“There are a few more emphatically dazzling drummers working today, but almost nobody in Wilson’s peer group with a broader sense of jazz history, or a more natural sense of time, or a stronger signature as a bandleader, or more goodwill among his fellow players.” Nate Chinen, JazzTimes

Wilson’s motto on stage and in the classroom; “The answer is YES…if it’s legal.”

Few musicians embody the spontaneous energy of jazz like Matt Wilson. The New York-based drummer combines buoyant zeal, idiosyncratic style, infectious humor, joyous swing and an indomitable spirit of surprise. Together, with his universally recognized personal warmth, these qualities have made Wilson one of the most in-demand players and educators on the modern jazz scene, both beloved and respected by his peers, elders and students. Not bad for a mischievous Midwestern boy from Knoxville, Illinois.

And that’s only a drop in the proverbial bucket in the context of an impressive discography that finds his distinctive style on more than 400 albums, with a "Who's Who" of contemporary jazz.

Matt can be heard hosting “Playdate with Matt Wilson” on New York jazz radio station WBGO.
