Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | Barbara Jo Kammer Singer-Songwriter, Americana, and Bluegrass | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online and on the radio, NY See Map |
Barbara Jo Kammer is a music therapist and band leader for Barbara Jo & The Hippie Buckaroos, performing at community events, benefits, and for elders in retirement communities as part of their music therapy work. In addition, she recently released her sophomore album, Big Blue Sky In The Morning, which was nominated by IndieShark for Album of the Year. All of the tracks were carefully chosen by Barbara Jo and her producer KC Groves (Uncle Earl), reflecting songs, writers, and styles that have made a home in her heart.
Barbara Jo’s encouraging attitude does not come from lofty optimism. She struggled with addiction for over 40 years. “I was able to give up ‘the fight’ as I say in my song ‘Winning Side’ (from her debut album). I surrendered to win!” Barbara Jo does not tour, but chooses to use her music to serve an often overlooked community. As a music therapist for elders, she provides music to residents of retirement communities in Boulder County, CO. | ||
