Founded in New Jersey in 1980, The Smithereens have been creating electrifying, original rock’n’roll for 39 years. Jim Babjak (guitar,) Dennis Diken (drums,) and Mike Mesaros (bass) grew up together in Carteret and lead singer, the late Pat DiNizio, hailed from Scotch Plains. The band paid its dues in clubs all over the NYC tri-state area from Kenny’s Castaways in Greenwich Village to the Court Tavern and Stone Pony in NJ. As The Smithereens’ fame escalated, they were in heavy rotation on MTV and appeared on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, and Saturday Night Live.

Dan Scannell and his band The Atlanteans will be performing there Progressive Jazzy Rock.Dan has been a local musician performing his original music at many different venues including Le Bar Batts, The Mercury Lounge and CBGB'S to name a few. His music has been played on WHUD and other local radio stations. An accomplished guitarist Dan also has written many acoustic and electric instrumentals as well. His music is a unique blend of classical, jazz, and progressive rock. His lyrics explore the depths of human relationships along with attempting to inspire others to seek the light that dwells within us all. John Osbourne will be playing the bass. John is a very accomplished musician who is also a virtuosic pianist John is currently working on his own projects as well. Kazi will be playing his percussive instruments including congas. Radio Prison is Bill Reeve – drums, David Hamburger – bass, John McDermott – guitar/vocals, and Richard Lobovsky – keyboards/vocals and Erik Blicker – guitar/vocals. All members have deep musical backgrounds. Bill is a conservatory-trained jazz drummer, David was an original member of the band “Sample This”, signed to Electra Records, and toured the world playing bass with Poppa Chubby. John spent his formative years busking around Ireland and Europe and fronted an indie rock band in San Francisco for many years. He is also a John Lennon Song Contest honoree. Rich has been playing in bands for many years and has been involved in several recording projects. Erik is a professional guitarist, a composer for TV and Film, and one of the owners of the Flavorlab audio production company. For Bendy, there have been hundreds upon hundreds of gigs and late night jams. He had been taken under the wing of blues masters Bill Perry and Popa Chubby, and performed with the Bendy Pastorius Group, of which he was a founding member, with brother and bassist Mike Bendy and drummer Julius Pastorius.
