Larry Federman and Chris Walsh are two musicians who have been gigging around the Hudson Valley and beyond for over 40 years. Since 1973, Larry has played guitar with numerous bands from Nashville to New York, and has recorded with, and/or shared the stage with many country artists. His music has taken him across the US and across the pond. Chris has been doing solo gigs since the 1980s, and is a founding member of the Hudson Valley band, “Thunder Ridge”, which began playing gigs in 1993. Larry joined the band in 2001, and the two have been lighting up the stage together with TR ever since. Recently, they decided to see what they could do as a duo. So in addition to working with “Thunder Ridge”, they are now also playing under the name, “Gray Matter”. Playing originals and covers – from country to rock and roll - these guys will get your gray matter pumping!

MAMARONECK, NY   See Map
Critically acclaimed touring and recording artist, French/Dominican vocalist Cyrille Aimée, brings her winsome charm, supple voice and stylistic diversity to perform jazz, swing, pop, Sondheim and more.

Improvisation is not just a technique for vocalist Cyrille Aimée. It’s a way of life, one that has not only allowed her to share her engaging voice and sparkling creativity with the world, but has led her on an unexpected journey.

From her roots in the small town of Samois-sur-Seine in France, where she was introduced to a wealth of diverse music by her French father and Dominican mother: everything from Michael Jackson to French chanson, Flamenco to country-western. In the ensuing years Aimée would continue to hone and expand those influences, integrating elements of Brazilian music, gypsy jazz, and singer-songwriter traditions. It was the unlimited potential of improvisation and the desire to pursue that in-the-moment creation which led her to jazz.

"It's a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady" - B.B. King

"She is one of those wonderful spirits, she's got her arms around you; you can feel that." - Levon Helm

www.alexispsuter.com

Raised in Brooklyn, NY by a musically gifted family, Alexis P Suter was infused with the passion and the belief that music is to be an emotional and spiritual experience, as seen with the gospel tune “I Just Got Off That Devil’s Train” sung as a duet on their most recent CD, "Be Love", with her 96 year old Mother Carrie.

At an Alexis P. Suter Band show, the audiences dance and sing along to rollicking roots songs or funky blues numbers; then a few songs later are wiping tears stirred by an awe-inspiring version of "Let it Be" or other songs that touch deeply. Alexis and her band are not just another musical act, but an energetic and emotional experience that fans return to time after time.

Guy Davis once said, "I like antiques and old things, old places, that still have the dust of those who've gone before us lying upon them." Blowing that dust off just enough to see its beauty is something Guy has excelled at for over twenty years of songwriting and performing. It's no wonder his reverence for the music of the blues masters are evident in every album he's ever recorded or concert he's given.

Guy Davis has spent his musical life carrying his message of the blues around the world, from the Equator to the Arctic Circle, earning him the title "Ambassador of the Blues".

His work as an actor, author, and music teacher earmark him as a renaissance man of the blues. What music and acting have in common, he explains, "is that I don't like people to see the hard work and the sweat that goes into what I do. I want them to hear me and be uplifted; and I want some little eight-year-old kid in the front row to have big eyes and say, 'Hey, I want to do that!'"

"Tulloch's curvy voice, framed by an evocative band, dips, soars and swoops as she sings, grounded in the universal reality of love and loss. A talented singer-songwriter who can sing about anything and make it work." - Stephen Israel/Times Herald Record

The groove of the Judith Tulloch Band has been described as jazzy, world-pop-fusion. Combining Brazilian, Latin, and Afro rhythms with jazz and pop rock, with the infusion of Steve Franchino's soaring flute work, has set their live performances apart.

Judith and her band have opened for Michael McDonald, Maria Muldaur, Pete Seeger, Janet Hamill & Moving Star, Patti Smith, Levon Helm, Lucy Kaplansky, Bo Diddley, Tom Chapin, and many others.

Singer/songwriter Diana Flynn defies genres, making waves in the music industry with her unique, haunting sound. Originally from upstate New York, Flynn performed for over 1,500 individuals at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center Arena in Poughkeepsie and was cast on ABC's American Idol in Buffalo.

"Diana Flynn presents a lovely harmony between her smooth acoustic guitar and crystal-clear vocals. It is rare to hear the two play out so well in a simple, raw acoustic concert...Whether classic Adult Contemporary, Country or originals, her talent shines!" -John Ebersole (Warped Tour, SNL Coffeehouse Photographer)

"I heard someone I would love to hear again and again... It's nice being able to say I hear real value and talent...I want to hear more Diana Flynn" - Paul Williams (President of ASCAP, Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award Winner)

"Diana is a pioneer in this industry, not a pilgrim, and she will pave the way for others to follow." Sadi Pekerol

The Eric Person 4tet plays the music of Ronald Shannon Jackson (1940 – 2013), a dramatically exciting drummer and one of the most uncompromisingly fearsome exponents of the post-1960s fusion. The antithesis of the tastefully discreet accompanist, he was a force of nature at the kit. Jackson's often thunderous directness appealed to pioneering leaders Charles Mingus, Ornette Coleman, Albert Ayler, the vocalist Betty Carter, and the pianists Cecil Taylor and McCoy Tyner.

“...saxophonist Eric Person seems to find something new to say and a different direction to follow with every project he undertakes.” - Donald Elfman / Jazz Reviewer / Producer

For over thirty years, Eric Person has been committed to composing, recording and performing dynamic and innovative music. His personal sound on alto, soprano, tenor saxophones and flute have been featured on more than 50 recordings.

Sawyer Fredericks

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
Americana singer-songwriter, Sawyer Fredericks, hailing from a farm in central New York, began playing local farmers markets, open mics, and iconic New York venues at the age of 13. With his deep, beyond-his-years original lyrics and melodies, soulful vocals, and powerful live performances, Sawyer seemed an unlikely match for reality tv, but he quickly won over audiences to win season 8 of NBC's The Voice. Fredericks released his major label debut, A Good Storm, with Republic Records, an impressive blend of soulful Folk, blues, and rock, entirely self or co-written. He chose to go independent for Hide Your Ghost (2018). In November, Fredericks released the title track for his upcoming full length album, Flowers For You, a song harkening back to the signature blues infused roots rock that first drew the nation's attention. The album, slated for a spring of 2020 release, is recorded fully to analog tape at Dreamland Recording Studios.
