June 29th - Metropolitan Hot Club Michael Boyle - Guitar Michael Snow - Violin Aaron Lieberman - Guitar, Vocals Charles Frommer - Bass, Clarinet, Vocals Upstate New York's hottest gypsy swing band, Metropolitan Hot Club celebrates the music made popular by legendary guitarist, Django Reinhardt, and jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli. An impressive repertoire of period music, along with newer favorites and a growing body of original compositions, make for an unforgettable listening experience.

“Metropolitan Hot Club is one of the best of the Django inspired groups and certainly the most fun. This group would have been outstanding even in Jazz's golden era. For listeners today, they are a complete delight and a reminder of those wonderful years when this music was truly the popular music of the world. Their playing exemplifies the spirit and swing of Jazz’s golden age.”

“...one of the best guitarists in the country...” - Billboard

http://www.scottsharrard.com/

2018 GRAMMY nominee Scott Sharrard had been the touring guitarist for the Gregg Allman Band since 2008. Gregg Allman, had high praise for the guitarist...

“I know all about guitar players —I’ve seen the very best — and Scott Sharrard is the perfect guitarist for my band. He understands that you don’t need to play just for the sake of playing; Scott isn’t one of those guys who thinks they’re getting paid by the note. He never steps on the vocals, and leaves plenty of room for everyone else to do their thing, but when it’s time to solo, Scott delivers, boy.”

While acting as Musical Director & Co-Writer for Allman and recording "Southern Blood" in Muscle Shoals, Scott was concentrating on the growth of his solo career, as well, while holding Gregg's legacy near and dear - a guiding light and a point of everlasting inspiration.

"The Big Takeover heats up its classic reggae and ska stylings with a horn-powered Motown bounce and pop verve straight from the 1960s and ’70s." - PULSE

https://www.bigtakeoverband.com/

The Big Takeover plays original music that is rooted in and reverent toward the genres and rhythms of Jamaican pop: reggae, rocksteady, ska. They are devotees of Desmond Dekker and the way the old school did it. At the same time, The Big Takeover crosses lines and blends traditions like global pop fusionists.

The bands latest single is a cover of Sophia George's 1985 Dancehall hit - "Girlie Girlie" - it was recorded as part of a UK compilation album containing 40 covers of classic Trojan Records hits from artists across the world. It was produced by Manuel Quintana (Rachel Yamagata, Robbie Dupree, among others) & Rob Kissner, and mixed by Grammy Award Winning engineer Danny Blume.
