By birth a Tennessean, David Massengill “emigrated” to the Greenwich Village folk scene in the mid-70’s, walking the same streets and playing the same storied coffee houses as Dylan and Van Ronk. His songs have been covered and recorded by Joan Baez, The Roches, Lucy Kaplansky, Tom Russell, Nanci Griffith and his mentor, Dave Van Ronk, who said David “took the dull out of dulcimer!” Notes Music Boulevard, “That David made the lap dulcimer his instrument of choice tells us a lot about the soft-spoken native of eastern Tennessee.” Jo Williamson's musical oeuvre is a journey of the heart. She shares with us the depth and intensity of a compelling inner world. Her songs are brilliantly crafted and are eloquently delivered with her exquisite voice. In 2018 she released her fifth recording of music, "Kidz Talk", a collection of original songs for kids of all ages. Her most popular track, "Sing a Little Song", is both a rousing affirmation and a simple plan for living. $10 suggested donation

A full evening of electronically flavored guitar instrumentals and acoustic vocal tunes by Spaghetti Eastern Music. Spaghetti Eastern Music is the solo project of NYC/Saugerties-based guitarist, keyboardist and singer Sal Cataldi. Cataldi fuses Eastern beat, blues, techno and funk-influenced guitar instrumentals with gentle acoustic vocal tunes and looping, straight out of the John Martyn/Nick Drake songbook. Time Out New York writes: “Cataldi’s largely instrumental, Eastern-influenced jams are infused with some delicate guitar work and hauntingly moody atmosphere,” while The New York Times proclaims Cataldi has “a beat unmistakably his own.” Called “truly excellent” by The Village Voice, “a wide ride” by Radio Woodstock, “beautiful and unique” by WFUV’s Mixed Bag, “wonderfully melodic and off-center” by WFMU’s Irene Trudel and a “whirling dervish of musical creation” by Hudson Valley One/Saugerties Times.

Fifty years ago, a left turn from history’s game-changing rock band, the Beatles followed up Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band - widely viewed as the dawn of the album era, in which LPs were conceived not as a collection of singles but a cohesive artistic statement - with a self-titled splatter of ideas spanning two discs and countless stylistic permutations. From their most meticulous, carefully crafted work they pivoted to ideas largely written in isolation during a transcendental meditation retreat in India. Many of those ideas were strokes of genius. Taken together, they became a monument to the Beatles’ boundless confidence and restless creativity half a decade into their reign as the biggest band in the world. - Chris DeVille / Stereo Gum The album's sleeve was designed by pop artist Richard Hamilton.... in stark contrast to Peter Blake's vivid cover art for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. An ensemble of veteran players deliver a piece of musical history!
