The band coined the term "HeaVy Mellow" in 2010 while recording their second album, "No Working Title",to put a name on the feeling being recorded. With six officially-active members, and a small army of like-minded comrades waiting in the wings, AMG has consistently headlined the biggest small festival in Upstate New York - MAZZSTOCK since 2008 - founded by Big Lee Mazzola, the mandatory annual all night jam session has grown and matured, but thankfully not too much. Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | Bett Padgett Singer-Songwriter, Folk/Traditional | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY See Map |
| Bett Padgett uses her voice as a tool to express her thoughts through song about today’s social, political and environmental climate. In addition to sharing her thoughts on these serious topics she enjoys writing about her dogs, the joys (and frustrations) of raising children, aging parents, the closeness of family and good friends. Though she is classically trained in piano and voice, and the fact that her father was a jazz musician, it was folk music that won her heart. Her love of traditional and Celtic music gives her sound a blend of styles. She uses her talents on guitar (alternate tunings with partial capos), mandolin, piano, rootsy claw-hammer banjo and harp to back her rich alto voice. She has written songs since 1989 and recorded eight CDs since 1997. She is currently working on her ninth album which will be released in the fall of 2019. Her new collection is entitled “If I Catch My Dream” and she surely is well on the road to doing just that. | ||
