Poet Gold's POELODIES, Special Guest: Stephanie JT Russell The FALCON & The FALCON UNDERGROUND
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Poet Gold assembles a fresh new line-up of brilliant spoken word and musical artists every fourth Wednesday.

Special Guest: Stephanie JT Russell poetry is a meditation on the pathos of ephemeral experience. She treats realms of human experience as fleeting works of art in themselves, seeking to amplify the details of things, people, places, and states of consciousness— so easily lost in the onslaught of information media that erodes our sensitivity to the moment, to ourselves, and each other.

she remains rooted in the mission of poetry to awaken an awareness of the moment, and in that awareness, the cultivation of abiding empathy. Russell believes there's nothing more human, or more urgently needed than building a culture of empathy in a world gone quite mad.

Host: Poet Gold’s poetry balances the written word with performance, delivering Spoken Word Poetry that is both transformative and entertaining.

https://www.facebook.com/TheCeesarBand/

The Ceesar band has been playing some of the most memorable classic rock - covering Led Zepplin, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Jethro Tull, Steely Dan, Beatles, and Tom Petty, among others. The band plays with such an infectious energy, you can’t help but be pulled in.

Bernie has the ability to capture the quality of an artist’s voice, on any cover. Billy will send chills through you with the intensity of his guitar playing. The rhythm section's bass player, George McGann and drummer,Dave Mucci, are putting down a tight, solid groove to lay the foundation for the music that will move you before you even know you're moving. The chemistry created by these four musicians comes around only once - maybe twice - through any musician’s career. Ceesar's Classic R&R Show is classic rock at its best.

A lively and soulful five-piece folk and roots band from Southwest Quebec’s Chateauquay Valley, Durham County Poets perform an eclectic blend of blues, folk and rock with tinges of country, gospel and swing tossed in for good measure.

Durham County Poets are “inventive in their taking musical roots and reshaping them,” says Spike Barkin, co-founder of the Roots of American Music Festival as part of Lincoln Center Out of Doors in NYC. Their recordings include, Where The River Flows (2011) and Chikkaboodah Stew (2014), and their third album “Grimshaw Road (2017).

http://www.dylandoyleband.com/

Southern-born, Northern-raised, Dylan Doyle's unique musical interpretation lies somewhere within the delta of Roots, Rock, and Jazz, a style that defies classification.

Dylan became a seasoned professional early, touring nationally since age 15. He has played with notables such as Rob Stoner (Bob Dylan, Don Mclean), John Platania (Van Morrison, Natalie Merchant), Ben Cauley (Otis Redding) and Bill Payne (Little Feat).

Stoner spoke of Dylan as one of the most prodigious players he has known, with abundant natural talent. John Platania referred to Dylan as “The Future.” Ben Cauley, after playing with Dylan in Memphis said, “Dylan Doyle sounds like a young Jimi Hendrix.” In the words of Bill Payne, after sharing the stage, “Music is a conversation. Dylan spoke beautifully and was listening to the musicians around him. His play was imaginative and original.”

“...one of the best guitarists in the country...” - Billboard

http://www.scottsharrard.com/

2018 GRAMMY nominee Scott Sharrard had been the touring guitarist for the Gregg Allman Band since 2008. Gregg Allman, had high praise for the guitarist.

“I know all about guitar players —I’ve seen the very best — and Scott Sharrard is the perfect guitarist for my band. He understands that you don’t need to play just for the sake of playing; Scott isn’t one of those guys who thinks they’re getting paid by the note. He never steps on the vocals, and leaves plenty of room for everyone else to do their thing, but when it’s time to solo, Scott delivers, boy.”

Sharrard's album "Saving Grace" is celebrating its 2018 release with a US eastern seaboard tour!

Come enjoy this sophisticated, mature duo of superb musicians who exude old school bohemianism, playing a mixture of jazz, swing, folk, blues and old-timey music with a contemporary style. Says James O'Brien of the Listening Room: "Samoa Wilson, lithe, modern and powerfully gifted in voice, brings a cutting-edge vision to the ensemble. There is conversely, something about her presentation that defies the moment. The effect of the Jim Kweskin Band is one of unhitching from the year and date, a wander through the material that seems slightly psychedelic."

Vito Petroccitto is magic. And we’re not just talking about the way he deftly casts alternating spells on his audiences, moving them either to awe, tears, full-out belly laughs, or all three at once. Armed only with his gritty, dirty, swampy telecaster guitar, his crazy-good vocal chords, and more than a touch of genius, Vito has somehow figured out how to do the work of ten men. If he’s not performing all over the Hudson Valley with “Four Guys in Disguise” (the band he co-founded in 1989, voted “Best of the Hudson Valley” for years running), he’s out gigging with his newest brainchild, “Left by the Wayside:” a swampy blues and funk band. When Ana Egge got bit by the music bug as a teenager, she took matters into her own hands, building her own guitar, and moving to Austin, TX to observe, absorb, and take musical risks. The striking depth and unusual maturity of her singing, playing, and songwriting got her noticed, and she recorded her first album, River Under the Road (1997), with the legendary western swing band, Asleep At The Wheel. The Austin Music Awards named her “Best Singer/Songwriter” and “Best Folk Artist.” Most recently, Egge released her tenth album, White Tiger (2018). Now based in Brooklyn, she still plays that guitar she made herself all those years ago, and is still possessed by a self-determined sense of who she is and what she wants to do. The Trapps are an American band that taps the roots of Americana, folk, and rock and roll, whose musical strength is their commitment to the song. The song is the law!

The band puts an emphasis on lyrical fiber. Their CD release, “Cheap Seats... are songs from the heart… Stories of seeking and searching for truth and for understanding. Reflections on personal experiences of birth, death, love and ultimately the universal aspects of perseverance and growth.”

The Best Local Country Music Band in the Hudson Valley
with 4 Guns Ridge, 4 Guns Ridge
Americana, Blues, and Country
Elsie's Place
1475 Route 208
Wallkill , NY   See Map
The members of 4 Gun Ridge have deep roots in Hudson Valley music. After leaving the days or their heavier bands, Joey's Throwin Elbows and Mearth behind, Donny Parker and Ian T. Fuller got the itch to start the edgy country project they had talked about for years. Before too long they stepped it up a notch with the addition of another rock and roller Duke LeBlanc on bass and Brother Adam Schreiner on drums. Fronted by Donny and his Gibson acoustic, 4 Gun Ridge plays original gritty cowboy rock the way you like it. The old time outlaw country influence is obvious but, they never shook off their dirty rock roots. Imagine upbeat southern rock played by upstate NY blue collar boys. Good tunes and good times.

Nathan and Becky Bliss, both classically-trained, have made some cool Americana records and had their last album named one of Amazon's Top 100 albums of the year. They’ve played Lincoln Center and NPR's Mountain Stage, and opened for Norah Jones & the Lumineers.

Their most recent album, "This is Life," coming in late 2019, was co-produced with Cason Cooley (Ingrid Michaelson, Matt Kearney) and speaks to where they've been, who they are, what they want and where they're going. It's smart pop with an authentic Americana stamp, not the other way round.

“Prepare to lose your soul", says L.A. Record of siblings Abigail and Lily Chapin, whose seventh recording, Ferry Boat, will be issued by Loantaka Records on April 30th, 2018.

Making music that The New York Times praises as “tantalizingly close to beauty”, The Chapin Sisters carry on a proud family musical legacy: Father Tom Chapin is a Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, legendary late uncle Harry Chapin was a musical artist and activist best known for his 1974 #1 hit “Cat’s in the Cradle”, and grandfather Jim Chapin was an esteemed jazz drummer and author of seminal drum instructional books.

Since 2005 the sisters have garnered critical acclaim by forging a distinctive musical imprint in which they “wed lilting voices, dynamically complex vocal harmonies, and folk-influenced melodies to dark, wryly sarcastic lyrical content” notes Amazon.com in an editorial review.
